He glanced through the window; his gaze met the small stalls by the road. The atmosphere was beautiful and calm. At that moment, he realized why his mother had chosen Silver City. The warmth and fresh breeze of the city spoke for itself. "I can see you're interested." Jane declared, her eyes fixed on the road. "It is quiet and ...nice," he replied softly. Shortly after, they finally arrived at the front of a modest bungalow. They alighted from the car as the engine gradually came to a stop. "Take your things inside. I'll hire some men to help with the rest tomorrow." Jane said. He nodded then carried his backpack and another grey coloured suitcase filled with his clothes. As he stood before the house, a sudden wave of dizziness hit him. He knitted his brows as his hand began to tremble uncomfortably. His breathing also became shallow and that was when he saw it....A blurred shadow, standing guard before the house. The suitcase slipped from his

Evans gave no reply. "I am talking to you." She continued then shifted her gaze to his book on the table. "Oh, Evans..is that name?" He quickly turned his book upside down then cleared his throat. "Nice name. I'm Jasmine." She added but her expression changed as he turned a deaf ear to her greetings. "We will talk later." They had a few other lessons and then got alerted for brunch. Evans picked at his mother's food while others left for the chat excitedly. His mother had registered him in the school the previous week, and as he had wanted, no one tried to become his friend or bully him. He would be pleased if it went on like that. Meanwhile, the new student was surrounded by other female students and they discussed as they ate. All of a sudden, fourth-year male students came towards them. Knocking other junior students on their heads as they headed towards Evans. Immediately, Evans's coursemates saw them, and they stood up from their seats, excluding Evans,

The next day, Evans arrived at the university. Today was strictly practicals and taking histories. He had made a quick revision at home very early in the morning. He was one of the most intelligent students in his former university before he was transferred here. As he arrived in front of the lecture hall, every eye fell on him. He halted then turned his gaze to the hall stage. Those bullies. They were there and they had menacing looks on their faces. Evans summoned courage and walked in. “Hey, boy.” He paused then shifted his gaze to the direction of the voice. A tall and bulky guy came forward, he had been standing behind the other boys. His hair was dyed orange and his hands were in his pockets. “You must be the new boy who stood against my boys, aren’t you?” Edward inquired, his eyes scanning Evans. “And you must be Edward? It is a shame that your friends rely on you before they can beat someone up. Bunch of cowards.” Evans retorted and the group’s expre

"You think you're the only one with secrets?" Edward said in a low tone. Evans' eyes snapped up....scanning Edward's unreadable expression. "What do you mean?" "First, let me take care of this for you," Edward replied as he stomped his leg on Evans' phone. The cracking of the screen prompted his group to burst out laughing. "Then we will move to the main business...who are you?" Evans' knitted his brows. His phone was crushed so there was no hope of asking for help. He was surrounded by Edward's bully group and with the menacing looks on their faces, it didn't seem like they would let him off the hook. Enduring the throbbing pain in his shoulder, he summoned the courage and met Edward's gaze. "What business?" "You are obviously a seer...I can smell it on you, but something is not quite right, and I can put my finger on it. What are you hiding? You are not a wizard right? If you were, you would have saved yourself but...since it's obvious that you're a seer. You

"I...I... The sudden movement at the doorstep made the shadow fade in the air. The weight on Evans disappeared as the door opened, and Evans immediately adjusted his sitting position. "Evans? Is that you?" Jane demanded as she stepped in, her brows drawn together in suspicion. Evans let out a slow breath. Then, as his breath steadied, he replied, "You are back, Mom." Jane's eyes scanned the room. For a brief second, she paused at the doorway, then walked in, closing the door behind her. "Were you talking to someone? I thought I heard something." Evans tilted his head slightly. "Talking? You must have heard wrong, Mom. I just got back from school a few minutes ago." "Yes, about that," she said as she shifted her gaze to him. "Where is your phone?" "Oh...my phone?" "Yes, your phone. Where is it? I've been ringing you nonstop, and you refused to reply to my text. I was worried about you, so I had to come home instantly," she answered back as she placed her handbag on
