CASPIAN Asher entered the kitchen as the percolator beeped, signaling that my coffee was ready. I filled my mug, adding a dash of sugar to suit my taste, and Asher poured himself a cup as well. As he sipped his coffee, he remarked, "You should have allowed her to leave." I took a sip of my own coffee, savoring the flavor. "Don't you trust her to return?"
