Helen’s POVI didn’t plan to see him that day, but yet something in me refused to sit still. For the past few days, Adrian had been… different. Not distant in the way he usually was when he got bored of people or situations, but distracted. Like part of him was somewhere else, somewhere I couldn’t reach. And that? That had never happened before. No, at least not with me.So yes… I went looking for him.His office still smelled the same.Always so clean, cold and expensive like a real cold CEO's office should be.Everything were in place, everything were in controlled, always just like him except he wasn’t.Adrian stood by the window when I walked in dressed in my wine colored dress and black heels. He placed one hand in his pocket, the other loosely holding a glass. He didn’t turn immediately when the door clicked shut behind me.That alone told me everything I needed to know.“You’ve been avoiding me.”I didn’t bother easing into it, because there was no point pretending with him.He

Adrian’s POVThe first thing that crossed my mind that morning was her.It should have been Reuben as always, but not after the scandal. Not even the dozens of unread messages waiting on my phone. He has been texting after mum solved the whole mess out. And she was the only prize I had. Just her, sister Elara.I leaned back against the chair, absently stirring the coffee in front of me while Vanessa’s words from yesterday replayed in my head over and over again.Be careful of whoever she is… because if she’s changing you like this, then she’s not harmless.A faint smile tugged at my lips.Harmless?I lowered my gaze towards the dark coffee swirling inside the cup before muttering under my breath,“If being harmless is really what you are… then it’s making me interested in you even more.”The thought alone irritated me and excited me at the same time.Because now, nothing about her made sense. At least not the way she looked at me. Not with the way she kissed me back and definitely not

Adrian’s POV“My room.”“What?”A small gasp escaped Elara’s lips immediately, her eyes widening behind those transparent glasses as she blinked twice at me like she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.I only smirked and turned away from the dining table before she could recover from the shock. Without waiting for her response, I started walking towards the staircase, sliding one hand casually into my pocket.Behind me, I heard her soft, uncertain voice.“Ma’am… do I follow him?”I glanced back briefly and caught my mother smiling like she had been waiting for this exact moment all day.“Yes, Elara,” she replied calmly. “Go ahead.”Elara hesitated for a second. I could literally feel it behind me. But eventually, the soft sound of her heels against the marble floor followed after mine, good.A strange satisfaction settled inside my chest.By the time we reached the second floor, the silence between us had become heavy. It wasn't awkward, just dangerous in a way neither of us wan

Elara’s POVAs I stepped out of Adrian’s room, the air still heavy with the tension that lingered between us. My legs felt like lead, my pulse still racing from what had just happened. I wasn’t even sure if it was the heat of desire or the guilt that made it so hard to breathe. I hated the way I spoke to him, bringing that conversation up and I felt stupid when he didn't understand what I meant. Of course he was pretending not to, and how good he was with it, made me mad.I wished I didn't have to get jealous or scared of loosing him, when whatever this was... was nothing that would last and maybe, just maybe that was my newest fear. What if I hadn't brought up that stupid conversation? Maybe we could still be lost in the hottest pleasure ever. I can't believe what am accepting to become and yet, the worst part of it is that, I didn't want it to end. If Adrian says he was gay, then how come he once had feelings with the maid? Okay, maybe that or this day was what made him probably ch

Elara’s POVVanessa’s eyes stayed fixed on me long after my words settled between us.“What!?”The silence inside the library suddenly felt heavier than before, thick enough to choke on. Even Katie looked completely stunned, her lips parted while her nervous eyes moved between both of us like she couldn’t understand what was happening anymore and honestly, neither could I.But for the first time in a long time, I didn’t care. Not anymore.Vanessa slowly stepped closer again, her expression no longer playful this time. There was something sharper in her gaze now. Something curiously dangerous.“You knew?” she asked quietly."Yes""For how long?" I didn't reply, I just stared at her, making her go impatient. "You didn't have to take a lead in telling me that" She added in a lower voice.I tilted my head slightly. “Didn’t you just call me your leader?” I said, watching her raised an eyebrow again."That's what leaders do, right?"Her lips twitched immediately like she was trying not to s
