KNOX'S POV I asked Doctor Isaiah to meet outside for a private discussion. He'd mentioned Sable's vitals not being stable and was going to prescribe drugs to help, but he never mentioned her emotional back and forth. KNOX'S POV It was obvious something was really wrong. I'd noticed that, and clearly Sable also had. I watched Ysoria leave the room after threatening me. She always did, but this seemed a bit different. It felt like she held a bigger grudge against me. Not because I took Sable out for medical treatment, not anything from the surface level. It had to be something more. I hated the fact Dax couldn't break down everything amongst us, thereby living the majority in the dark while Ysoria knew just what he was going on about. Maybe it had something to do with me. Or maybe Sable. But as I watched her leave right after she mentioned the cleansing ritual, I felt a bit uncomfortable. It was just a minor procedure meant to keep Sable and the baby safe, meant to hoard off bad energies. But why in God's name was I feeling like there was something more. SABLE'S POV I woke up to the soft tap of my door, I'd dozed off earlier waiting on Knox, but he didn't return. I pulled my eyes open, believing it was Knox who'd walked in, but it wasn't. Madam Rosa strolled into the room, the sound of her feet barely audible as she approached me. “Madam Rosa?” I called out her name in confusion. My eyes slowly searched the room until it landed on the clock. It was past two in the morning, she should be asleep. KNOX'S POV I felt so uncomfortable being with Alpha Bryn at this hour of the night, but there was nothing I could do. It wasn't the first time we will do such, nor was it the second. At some point, we only did our meetings during the night until dawn. But since Sable's arrival, and also since we drifted apart, we rearly did that. I realized for the past few months, all we did was argue and fight. I assumed today would be no different, I assumed Bryn would be pissed off even before midnight and ask me to leave, but that didn't happen.
