Antoine looked completely stunned. His eyes widened as his gaze traveled from her face, down the creamy line of her neck, to the deep V of her neckline, and finally to her bare, thick legs—beautifully exposed by the short shorts she wore. He blinked like a man emerging from a dark tunnel into blinding sunlight. A deep, blotchy red began to creep up his neck and flood his cheeks. “L-Lena…” he stammered. Noticing where his eyes had lingered, Lena suddenly realized how she must look. She instinctively crossed one arm over her chest, clutching the neckline of her top closed. “Antoine, what are you doing here?” she whispered, glancing sharply toward the hallway. *What if Tarzan arrives now?* “You can’t just show up without a call.” He swallowed hard; his Adam’s apple bobbed. “I… I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to— I wanted to surprise you. Is this a bad time?” She sighed. “Yes. It’s a bad time,” she said, her voice a little too bright, a little too high. He offered a

“That’s… that’s not true—”Antoine muttered. “That’s exactly what it is. You walked into her home. You put your hands on her. You made her uncomfortable. And now you want to stand here and act like you are innocent?” He tilted his head, studying Antoine the way a man studies something he might crush “I was hugging her,” Antoine said, but his voice wavered. “It was just a hug. She didn’t push me away.” “Because she was being polite.” Tarzan’s eyes blazed. “Lena is always too kind for her own damn good. But I’m not.” Then he leaned in slightly, voice dropping to a murmur only Antoine could hear. “Let me make something crystal clear. I hate you. We just met, and I already hate you. Don’t ask me why. Avoid me. Don’t let me see you anywhere near her again. Because if I do—if I get reminded of those hands of yours around her waist—I will cut them off. No one has the right to touch my woman that way.” Antoine’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “You can’t threaten me.” His voice trembled.

“You want to know the reason I love you? I don’t think I know the answer.”Lena cuts in.Tarzan flinched as if a spear with right into his heart. His eyes snapped back to her tear-streaked face. The words hit him like a blow.“You don’t love me?”He whispered."If I say I don't love you would you believe that?" She replied,.meeting his gaze. Tarzan's heart skipped a beat and his fists clenched tightly.Lena noticed and smiled sadly, looking away."I thought I was clear, that my actions are enough to speak about how I feel about you."Tarzan swallowed tightly."The truth is I have never loved anyone else like I loved you, Tarzan. Ofcourse I am grateful for you loving me and caring for me but that's not the reason I love you. The reason why I feel inlove with you is hard to explain because it's not just one reason....it's everything."Tarzan's fist loosened slowly but his gaze stayed down.Lena sniffled trying to keep it together. "You really don't know how hard it was for me when

“I love you,” he murmured against her neck, ,is deep voice vibrating against her skin. “I love you so damn much it drives me crazy. For the record—when I saw that guy touching you, I wanted to kill him. I swear to God. I wanted to tear him apart.”“I know,” Lena breathed, her fingers curling into his shirt. “I’m glad you held back. For me. I’m so proud of you.” She pulled back just enough to meet his eyes, a soft smile tugging at her lips. “Antoine can be a stubborn brat, but he’s a good person. He’s helped me a lot.” Tarzan drew away slightly, the warmth of his body still lingering. His jaw tightened. “I don’t fucking care if he’s nice,” he said, voice edged with ice. “He needs to stay the hell away from you.” Lena blinked, startled by the intensity of the outburst—then a soft giggle escaped her. “Of course… I’m sure you scared him away. He looked so terrified I almost pity him." “He should be terrified. By the way, where’s Scar? I saw his men outside, but he wasn’t with them.

Scar noticed the disappointment on her face but said nothing.Jessie scanned the menu with forced interest, her earlier enthusiasm dimming.“So,” she said, trying again, “what do you do for work?”“I’m in security.”“Like a bodyguard?”“Something like that.”Jessie’s eyes sparked with renewed curiosity. “That sounds exciting. Have you ever had to protect anyone famous?”“I’ve protected people who thought they were famous.”Jessie finally laughed.“I guess you’re funny when you want to be.”“I’m not trying to be funny.”“That’s what makes it funny.”Across the restaurant, Nora lowered her menu just enough to watch the exchange—only to meet Scar’s gaze again. She cursed under her breath and looked away quickly.Hannah leaned forward. “He’s not buying it, is he?”“He knows we’re here,” Nora murmured.“Then why isn’t he saying anything?”“Because he’s playing along. He’s definitely mocking our skills.”Hannah frowned. “Not mine. I’m completely invisible. I’ve been doing this for my fr
