We found the air denser as we moved further to the east of the forest. The higher and larger the trees became, the more their branches twisted above our heads, blocking the sunlight rays from falling on the ground, which made it difficult to calculate the actual time we had been in this forest.Every breaking twig seemed like an ominous sign.Every shadow felt alive.I kept walking anyway.The rune on my shoulder bit deeply, as beads of sweat were stuck to the back of my shirt, from the persistent exercise.
