Semua Bab The Price of Peace: Book 3 In The No More Regrets Series: Bab 161 - Bab 170

Keisha’s POVFriday Afternoon I was driving down Clark Street toward the bridal shop, and honestly, I already knew Carmen was about to lose her rabbit ass mind. Why?Because I had Baby Mabel with me.Kole couldn't take her because he had a late court case. Grandma Mabel was already coming to the fitting, which meant my number one babysitter was unavailable, and I wasn't about to leave my child with just anybody. So Carmen was simply going to have to deal with it.Mabel was family too.As I pulled into a paid parking space, I quickly paid for parking and grabbed my ticket before unbuckling Mabel from her car seat. I slung the diaper backpack over one shoulder, my purse over the other, and balanced my daughter on my hip."Come on, Mama's girl."Mabel patted my cheek happily. The bridal shop looked exactly like something out of a movie. From the outside, it was nothing more than a plain door squeezed between two buildings. No display windows. No mannequins. No signs.Just a door.I rang

Keisha's POVAs we went back into the dressing rooms and started changing back into our regular clothes while Carmen went to change into her third and final dress, I quickly got dressed and hurried over to Sienna's room."Girl, we gotta find out what's up with Tiffany. When you said that shit about her loving Maverick, isn't that too soon?"Sienna shrugged."Well, let me tell you. They've worked together for years."I looked at her skeptically."Tiffany is younger than us, so they couldn't have worked together that damn long."Sienna sighed."Well, I mean at least four years. Even when she was an intern, she was working there. Yeah, and Maverick had just started too. I mean, he's only a year older than Knox. So who knows? Those two have basically been running away from each other because they didn't wanna cause any conflict of interest. I don't know, but now they've gone on a whole weekend date, and now it's Friday, and she's texting like a mad woman. Maybe we should just see what hap

Shane's POV As I looked over at SJ, I could see the smart-ass comments brewing before they even came out of his mouth. The look on his face said it all. I told Maya to excuse me for a minute and asked SJ to come with me. Maya immediately reached out and grabbed my arm, stopping me before I could leave. "Don't do anything," she said quietly. I shook my head and gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm not going to do anything to him. I'm just going to talk to him." SJ was already walking ahead of me by the time I caught up. We headed toward the restroom, and once we got inside, I made sure nobody else was in there before turning to face him. "Hey, SJ." He shoved his hands into his pockets and looked at the floor. "I already talked to you about Maya and what's going on between us," I said. "So tell me what's really bothering you. Why are you giving her so much attitude?" He sighed heavily. "Dad, it's just weird." I nodded. "Okay." "It really is," he continued. "It's weird seeing

Crandon's POVAs we pulled up to my parents' house, I couldn't help but smile. It had become a ritual at this point. Most Sundays and Wednesdays, we'd all gather here for dinner. Lately, we'd been skipping Wednesdays because work had been absolutely insane.Between Tempest and me trying to handle this restaurant lawsuit, which was quickly becoming as complicated as the Universal Airlines case, we barely had time to breathe.Thankfully, the government hadn't come back around.I knew that whole investigation had been a witch hunt anyway. They weren't going to find a damn thing. We were good at crossing our T's and dotting our I's.I glanced over at Tempest and took her hand, bringing it to my lips."You ready?" I asked. She smiled."Yeah. I'm ready."I got out of the truck and hurried around to her side before she could open her own door. Pulling it open, I offered her my hand. She laughed as she stepped out."You're such a gentleman.""I try to be," I said with a grin. "I aim to please

Keisha's POV I pulled the sheet around myself as the alarm on my phone started vibrating across the nightstand.Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. With a groan, I slammed my hand down on the screen and silenced it.Beside me, Kole rolled over and squinted."What time is it?"I blinked at the screen."I think it's 6:30. Give me fifteen more minutes."Kole immediately started laughing."I don't understand why you don't just set the alarm for 6:45."I frowned."What?""You set the alarm for 5:15 every single day. Then you snooze it all the way until 6:45. Just set it for 6:45."I sighed dramatically."No. I want to get up at 5:15.""But you never get up.""I be tired.""The reason you're tired is because you keep waking yourself up every fifteen minutes."I rolled my eyes and turned away from him.The worst part was that he was absolutely right. But I wasn't about to tell him that. So I pulled the blanket back up and closed my eyes. The second I got comfortable...Buzz. Buz
