Chapter 31

B I A N C ADamian and I arrived back home from the hospital that night, after visiting my father in his private room. My mother had insisted I go home and get some rest, promising to call if there was any change.I had sat with my father for a few minutes. He was pale and weak, but he was alert. He had squeezed my hand and that was all the reassurance I needed.I wanted to laugh at the irony of it. After everything he had done to me, after forcing me into a marriage I didn't want, here I was scared to death for his life. But seeing him like that, so vulnerable, I couldn't bring myself to be angry. I was just relieved he was alive. The house felt colder and emptier than ever.I kicked off my heels and sank onto the plush sofa, the adrenaline from the day finally wearing off, leaving me drained. My head was pounding, and there was a persistent ache behind my eyes.Damian walked in, carrying a steaming mug. He placed it on the coffee table in front of me."Chamomile tea," he said, sitti

B I A N C AWhen I was finished, I placed the bowl back on the nightstand."Thank you," I said, my voice still hoarse from crying."You're welcome," he said, taking the tray and placing it on the floor. He lay down next to me, propping himself up on an elbow. This was the closest we had been to each other since our honeymoon, and it felt... intimate. He brushed a strand of hair from my forehead, his touch sending a shiver down my spine. I should have pulled away, but I didn't. I was too tired to fight.Or maybe I was just trying to avoid the truth. That I wanted him to touch me.He leaned in, his lips just inches from mine. I could feel the warmth of his breath on my skin.I closed my eyes, my heart pounding in my chest. I was waiting for him to kiss me. And a part of me wanted him to. A large part. But he didn't.He just stayed there, suspended in the moment, giving me the power to decide.I took a shaky breath, the scent of him filling my lungs again. And then I made a choice. A cho

B I A N C AThe morning light filtered through the curtains. I blinked my eyes open, my body aching in the most delicious way.I turned my head, and Damian was there, sleeping peacefully beside me. His hair was a mess, and he had a light stubble on his chin. He looked younger, more vulnerable in his sleep.I watched him for a moment. Last night had been... a mistake. A beautiful, wonderful mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.I had crossed a line. I had let my emotions get the better of me. I had broken my own rules.I quietly slipped out of bed, grabbing my discarded nightgown from the floor. I tiptoed to the bathroom, closing the door softly behind me.I looked freshly fucked. My lips were swollen, and my skin had a healthy glow. There was a small mark on my neck, a love bite. This man had given me a hickey.Thankfully, he was too engrossed in eating me out like his life depended on it that we didn’t even have sex. But he had made sure to drain every bit of energy in me. I groaned,

D A M I A NI watched Bianca as she spoke with one of her father's doctors. She was poised and confident, asking all the right questions. She was every bit the CEO. The Salvatore. But I knew better. I knew the woman underneath the carefully constructed facade. The woman who cried in my arms, the woman who came undone at my touch. The woman who was terrified of her own feelings. And I found that woman more interesting. The doctor left, and Bianca walked over to me, a small sigh escaping her lips."He's doing well," she said. "They're talking about discharging him in a few days.""That's good news," I said, placing a hand on the small of her back. She stiffened at my touch, just for a second, before relaxing. I had to hide a smile. This little game she was playing, this little game of pretence was entertaining. But it wouldn't last. I had already cracked her walls. It was only a matter of time before it shattered completely.I led her into her father's private room.He was sitting up i

Chapter 35

D A M I A NThe drive home was quiet. Bianca was lost in her thoughts, and I didn't want to intrude. When we arrived at the house, she immediately went to her office, closing the door behind her. She was using work as a shield again.I let her be. I had to give her space.I went straight to my bedroom. Our day off incidentally fell on the same day today, or maybe, not so coincidentally after the events of last night and this morning.I just needed to make a few calls with her assistant, and she had shifted most of her meetings.Lucas was a problem. A big one. And I had to deal with him. For good.I couldn't have him running around, trying to ruin Bianca's life. Not just because she was my wife, but because she was now mine to protect. And I destroyed anything that tried to harm what was mine.I sat down at my desk, pulling up my laptop. I had a few contacts in the right places. Contacts who owed me a favor.I sent a few encrypted messages, my fingers flying across the keyboard.I was

D A M I A NShe shook her head and continued cooking, while I watched. It was... nice. Domestic. A glimpse into a life I didn't know I wanted."So," I said, after a while. "About what your father said...""Don't," she said, her voice sharp. "Just don't.""He's just worried about you," I said, my tone gentle."Is that what he said?" she asked, turning to face me. "Or did he say something about the company? About an heir?"I didn't answer. I just looked at her."I knew it," she said, her eyes flashing with anger. "This is all a game to him. To you. Get Bianca married off, get her pregnant, and secure the future of Salvatore Corp. I'm just a pawn in your little game.""Is that what you really think?" I asked, my expression serious."I don't know what to think anymore," she said, her voice cracking. "All I know is that I'm tired. I'm tired of being used. I'm tired of being controlled.""I'm not trying to control you, Bianca," I said, my voice soft."Aren't you?" she asked, a bitter laugh

B I A N C AI was reviewing some documents in my home office, when Sophia barged inside. Her face was pale, and her eyes were wide with alarm."Ms. Salvatore," she said, her breath coming in ragged gasps. "You need to see this."She handed me her tablet. On the screen was a news article. The headline stared at me:LUCAS HART IMPLICATED IN NEW SCANDAL! : EVIDENCES SHOW THAT HE HAS BEEN SMUGGLING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATIONS FROM HIS INVESTORS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR YEARS.I scanned the article, my heart pounding in my chest. It was detailed. It listed specific instances, complete with dates, digital trails, and even anonymous testimonies. It was carefully crafted. And it had all happened within the last few hours. This was Damian's work. I knew it with a certainty that chilled me to the bone. The suspicious ‘business’ phone call. The smug look on his face.He had done this. He had gone behind my back and declared war on Lucas. A war I never asked him to fight."Where did this come from

Chapter 38

B I A N C AI was so confused. A part of me wanted to slap him, to rage against the chains he was forging around me. But another weaker part of me wanted to melt into him, to let him take control, to let him fight my battles. It was a terrifyingly seductive thought. He must have seen the war waging inside me. He leaned in, his lips brushing against my ear. "You see? You want me. Just as much as I want you. This fight between us... it's just foreplay.""No," I breathed, my words were unconvincing even to myself."Yes," he whispered back, his hands moving to my waist, pulling me flush against him. "You get excited about the fact I'm destroying your enemies, you get wet when I control you, and you get nervous about the fact I can see right through your little games."My body betrayed me again, a jolt of pure electricity shooting through me at his proximity. He was right. The bastard was right.I was losing this battle. I was losing myself."We are not doing this," I said, finally finding

B I A N C AHe met me halfway. The kiss was not gentle. His tongue demanded entry, and I gave it, a sigh escaping me as he explored my mouth. He tasted of whiskey, something that made my head spin and my body ache. He broke the kiss, his breathing ragged, his eyes burning into mine."Stand up," he commanded, a low rumble that vibrated through my very bones. My body obeyed before my mind could process the command. I slid off his lap, my legs feeling unsteady, as if I’d forgotten how to stand on my own. I stood before him, my hands clasped in front of me, a wave of self consciousness washing over me. The CEO was gone. In her place was a woman waiting for her next instruction. He rose from the chair, towering over me. His presence alone was overwhelming. He didn't touch me, not yet. He just circled me slowly, like a predator assessing its prey. His gaze was stripping me bare. It lingered on the column of my throat, on the swell of my breasts beneath my silk blouse, on the curve of my

B I A N C AI gasped, my body jerking in response. He held me in place, his hands gripping my hips, as he explored me with his mouth. His tongue delved deep, tasting me, driving me wild with pleasure.I'd never... no one had ever... eaten me out from the back and it felt… so depraved. So good.I could feel the pressure building, that familiar coil of pleasure tightening in my stomach."Damian," I moaned, my hands fisting at my sides. He didn't stop. He intensified his efforts, his tongue flicking against my clit, his teeth grazing my sensitive flesh.I came with a cry, my body convulsing with pleasure. The orgasm was intense, shattering. I would have collapsed if he wasn't holding me up.When I finally came back to myself, he was standing behind me, his chest pressed against my back. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close."Good girl," he whispered, his lips brushing against my ear. "So responsive. So beautiful when you come."He turned me around to face him, then scooped me
