DENDERICK'S POVThe physician's shoulders sagged, and she clasped her hands together. "I... I apologize, Alpha," she pleaded, her voice thick with regret. "I know nothing more about the issue."With a malicious smile spreading across my lips, I rose from the couch, towering over the kneeling physician. "Even now," I taunted, my voice dripping with scorn, "you cannot bring yourself to tell me the truth."Her eyes brimmed with tears. "I only did what I thought was right," she pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion. "I examined Aria as part of my duty, nothing more."I scoffed. "Part of your duty? Part of your duty was also to report to me!"The physician's words faltered as she struggled to explain further, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "I... I don't know what.... what happened after that," she admitted. My gaze hardened as I turned to face hee, a cold fury coursing through my veins. "You are a woman of treason and betrayal," I declared. Aria's POVI woke up to voices around me, distant and muffled at first, like they were coming from the other side of a thick wall. Blinking my eyes open, the blurry shapes above me gradually came into focus. I recognized the kitchen ceiling and the harsh fluorescent lights glaring down at me.The voices grew clearer, a mix of concern and irritation. "What happened to her?" someone asked, their tone filled with impatience."She slipped and fell," another voice replied, softer and more worried.I tried to move, but a sharp pain shot through my head, making me gasp. The murmur of voices stopped, and I felt a presence kneeling beside me. A gentle hand touched my shoulder, and I turned my head slightly to see Dr. Farkas with his worried eyes looking down at me."Don't try to get up too quickly," he said gently. "You had a nasty fall."My memories came rushing back – the water, the slip, the terror. I instinctively placed a hand on my belly, relief flooding through me when I felt the faint m

The name "Alpha Denderick" echoed through the hall, sending a chill down my spine. Horror gripped me. Why was he looking for me? Had he discovered that I was to be Alpha Logan's Luna? How would I deal with two powerful Alphas fighting over me and my baby?I watched Alpha Logan approach the guards, slowly. From the way he walked, from every tense muscle of his back, I knew that he was absolutely livid. He stood tall, exuding authority."And what does your precious Alpha Denderick want with me?" He roared. "Do I look like I am keeping pregnant women hostage?"My heart pounded in my chest. Panic surged through me. They were looking for me. What if they discovered I was not pregnant with Alpha Logan's child like I claimed? What would Alpha Logan do to me if he discovered the truth?Silently, I fisted my hands, trying to control the onslaught of any anxiety. My heart was hammering like a tribal drum in my chest, and a fine sheen of sweat had gathered on my forehead. The lead guard raised h

ARIA'S POVThings started to fall apart a week later. The market I was in was bustling with life, the air thick with the scent of fresh produce and the sound of merchants calling out their wares. I strolled through the crowded stalls, a few guards trailing behind me for protection. The sights and sounds were almost enough to distract me from my worries—almost.Suddenly, an uproar erupted behind me. I spun around, heart pounding in my chest, to see a group of armored guards pushing through the crowd. They wore insignia I didn’t recognize at first, but my blood ran cold as the realization dawned on me.They were from Alpha Denderick’s pack.I thought that I had managed to escape them at my coronation ceremony, but here they were, tormenting me with their presence. Again. The foreign guards rounded up all the pregnant women in the market, forcing them to their knees. Panic and confusion spread through the crowd like wildfire. Women cried out in fear, their hands instinctively going to th

ARIA'S POVI squeezed my eyes shut in frustration, as I saw who it was at the door. The last thing I needed was Alpha Logan's presence around me.However, I couldn't show my annoyance. Instead, I forced a weak smile. "Yes, the doctor is gone."Alpha Logan entered the room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to the bed and took my hand, squeezing it gently. "I was so worried, Aria. You and the baby mean everything to me."I nodded, but his words felt hollow. It was always about the baby. He never asked how I felt or if I needed anything. "I'm feeling a bit better now," I replied, trying to sound reassuring.Alpha Logan 's eyes softened as he looked at my belly. "You need to take care of yourself, for our child's sake. I can't imagine losing you or the baby. You're both my future."The emphasis on "baby" made my chest tighten. "I understand," I replied quietly. He stroked my hair. His touch meant to be comforting, but it only reminded me of the heavy expectations placed upo
