Aria's POVI woke the next morning to an empty space beside my bed. The faint light of the sun streamed through the window; it was morning already. I had given Erinne clear instructions to be here at the first cock crow. Was she being disobedient on purpose, just to spite me? I sat up in annoyance. How dare she defy me, especially after everything that had happened? I threw off the covers and quickly dressed, determined to find her.As I made my way through the hallways, my thoughts were filled with frustration. Even after saving her life, Erinne was still a problem, a thorn in my side. I reached the kitchen, knowing exactly where she would be. Sure enough, as I approached, I could hear her voice chattering away.I stood by the doorway, listening to her spew a lot of lies about me and Alpha Logan."Can you believe it?" Erinne sniggered. "Aria thinks she's so special just because she's carrying the Alpha's baby. But I heard she begged him to take her in, saying she'd do anything to ge

Aria's POVFinally, we reached the pack house. As I stepped down from the carriage, I was taken aback by the crowd gathered in front of the house. Most of them were men, their faces grim and determined, clamoring to see Alpha Logan.“Where’s the Alpha?” one of the men shouted.“We need to see him now!” another yelled, his voice edged with desperation.I took a deep breath and stepped forward, Erinne trailing behind me. “What’s going on here?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.A man at the front of the crowd turned to me, his eyes filled with anger and fear. “We need to see Alpha Logan concerning our missing pregnant wives and daughters,” he declared. “They’ve been missing for over a day now, and no one is doing anything about it!”Another man stepped forward, his fists clenched. “We’ve had enough! If the Alpha can’t protect us, we’ll take matters into our own hands!”The murmurs of agreement from the crowd made my heart race. They looked ready to start acts of violence, and I w

Logan's POVAs Denderick walked into the room, every Alpha present started to murmur. The aura he exuded was so strong that even the most confident among us hesitated. The way he strutted annoyed me to my core. Who did he think he was, anyway?“Apologies for my late arrival,” he said, his voice a deep, rumbling baritone. He stepped into the room with a confidence that bordered on arrogance, the heavy boots on his feet echoing on the wooden floor."Well? I asked a question!" He declared."We... we were just discussing recent events," Alpha Rowan was the first to break the silence."Recent events?" Denderick's voice was a low growl as he stepped further into the room. "And were you referring to me?"Alpha Harris, who had been mocking Denderick only moments ago, looked down at his hands, avoiding eye contact. "We were discussing the missing pregnant women, Denderick," he said, his voice wavering. "There are accusations—""Accusations?" Denderick cut him off, his eyes narrowing. "Against

Denderick's POVFor long seconds, there was nothing but silence in the room."Are you.... Are you certain of this?" I asked quietly. Liam did nothing but nod in assent.I stood up and paced the length of my study, the tension in my muscles coiling tighter with each step. Liam's whole revelation had stirred a fury within me. But the news that one of the pregnant women had been captured—it was both a shock and a potential turning point."Liam, where is she?" I demanded, stopping abruptly and facing him.Liam hesitated, a shadow crossing his face. "She's being kept in one of the lower rooms, Alpha. She's in bad shape.""Take me to her," I ordered.Without another word, we left the study and made our way through the brightly lit corridors of the pack house. The air grew colder and the walls narrower as we descended to the lower levels. My footsteps echoed off the stone floors, mingling with the distant drip of water. The scent of dampness and mildew filled the air.We stopped in front of

Aria's POVThe moment I felt my water break, I froze. The sensation was sudden and overwhelming, and above all foreign.Alpha Logan, still looming over me with his anger, seemed to sense the change. His eyes widened, and the fury faded, replaced by concern.“What’s the matter?” he demanded. "What is it? Is my baby okay?"I took a shaky breath, my hand instinctively going to my belly. “My water just broke,” I whispered. "I.... I don't know what to do!"For a moment, Alpha Logan just stared at me. His mind was seemingly processing what I’d just said. Then, in an instant, he jumped into action.“Someone get Doctor Farkas! Now!” he barked, his voice echoing through the hallway. He turned back to me, his expression serious but no longer angry. “Aria, you need to stay calm. We’re going to get you to the birthing room.”I nodded, trying to steady my breathing. The pain was already starting, and I knew it was only going to get worse. Alpha Logan’s demeanor had shifted completely; he was focus
