"Wow, you're a maid?" she asked. The corner of Quincy's mouth twitched as though she was trying very hard not to laugh. Mara didn't miss it. Neither did I. For a brief second, the two women stared at each other. "Maid," Mara repeated calmly. "Is there a problem with that?" Quincy scoffed at her before turning to my nanny. "Nanny Sarah, I'm thirsty. I want some juice and snacks. Make her serve it." Quincy said pointing to Mara as if she was a servant. I stepped forward, about to stop her when Mara spoke. "I'll do it." I turned sharply toward her. "Mara." She didn't look at me. "It's fine," she said quietly. "It isn't." I protested. Quincy raised an eyebrow. "Why not?" "Because she's your classmate," I said, my voice firm. "It would be awkward for her to serve you." Quincy stared at me, scoffing. "Awkward?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. "Yes.
