Eli sat on the edge of the bed, still touching one of the bruises on his hip. "This is so messed up," he muttered. "I shouldn't feel safe. I should feel angry." He got up and pulled on fresh clothes. The penthouse was quiet again. Too quiet. "Cove?" he called out. "You here?" No answer. Eli walked out to the living room. "Cove? Hello?" Still nothing. He checked the kitchen. Empty. "He left," Eli said to himself. "He actually left me alone in here." A small smile crept onto his face. "Okay. This is my chance." Eli moved fast through the penthouse. He went straight back to the office. The laptop was still on the desk, closed but unguarded. He opened it and started typing. "Come on, come on," Eli whispered. "Show me the security grid." He clicked through folders, talking to himself. "You're smart, Cove, but you left me alone with your computer again. Big mistake." After a few minutes, he found the security folder. "There you are. Nice encryption, but I've seen worse.
