Andrew, with his hands inside his pocket, stood right in front of him, looking not even a bit bothered that Raffy was giving him a deathly stare. That pissed Raffy more than he already was."I am here for your son. Is he home? May I speak with him?"Raffy scoffed. "Oh, so you now remember my son.""Raffy...""He's still at school. And even if he's home, I will not allow you to talk to him.""Look, I am not here to hurt Lance.""You already did," Raffy said immediately. "The moment you promised him something and then acted as if you didn't, you had already hurt him. Why did you even do that? Why had you talked to him without me knowing? Why did you make him believe that you are someone you are not—someone kind and someone he could trust? Why the hell did you have to promise him something, only for you to break that fucking promise!"Remembering the sadness and disappointment in Lance's face when he finally realized that Andrew has no intention to fulfill his promise made Raffy want to

It took Andrew a while to get over being surprised and find his voice again."Yes" was the only word he was able to say. He knew he should have said more or even tried to sound a bit more enthusiastic, but with how he was trying not to look and sound overly happy with Lance's acknowledgement with a genuine smile, looking for the right words was the least thing he could think about. He was damn happy; a wide and huge smile appeared on his lips without him even realizing. It was when he felt Raffy's intense staring at him that he finally caught himself smiling like an idiot. He cleared his throat and fixed his expression. But then Lance spoke through his raspy voice."You look better when you smile, Andrew."Once again, shock filled Andrew's face. He was not expecting to hear that from the young boy. He didn't know what to do. He was torn as to whether he should keep up the normal expression he had always shown to the public or he should just be himself. But before he could even get an

Andrew couldn't stop the smile that appeared on his face as he watched Lance, who finally slept after playing board games with him.For someone still sick, the kid was too energetic. He didn't even want to sleep yet even though it was already in the middle of the night. The only thing that convinced Lance to finally sleep was when Raffy secretly talked to one of the nurses while they were making rounds to scare the boy and tell him that unless he got enough sleep, then he would be staying at the hospital for another night."He's finally asleep."From staring at Lance, Andrew raised his head to look at Raffy, who had just come out from the restroom."Thanks to your bright idea of asking the nurse," he replied with a smile. "If it weren't for that, we probably would still be convincing him till now."Raffy took the seat beside Lance's bed. He crossed his arms over his chest as he stared at his son adoringly. "I don't know what got over him. He usually isn't this stubborn—not that I hate

Raffy was trying his hardest to fall asleep. He knew he needed it to put his mind and body to rest. But no matter what he did, no matter how long he kept his eyes closed while counting sheep, sleep wasn't taking him away. His brain was filled with so many thoughts. Questions kept flooding his head. He wanted to know the root of Lance's stress and anxiety because he knew being disappointed with Andrew not keeping his promise to him was just the tip of the iceberg. Hell, it might not even be part of the reasons why he was stressed.'But surely, you are one of the reasons,' a voice inside his head said.Raffy sighed. That one, he was sure of. He was definitely one of the reasons for his son's stress and anxiety. And he wanted to know how and why. Was it because he always ended up being swallowed in his own thoughts for the past few weeks? Or was it because he was not giving Lance enough assurance that they won't be leaving their place? Or could it be because he was not giving him enough
