Victoria stood alone in the living room of the new villa Declan had bought for them.“Hello?” she called, pressing the phone tighter against her ear.The line had already gone dead.A flash of irritation crossed her face. How dare Declan cut the call on her?She flung the phone onto the couch and let out a frustrated groan. This was supposed to be her chance. But Elysia still being alive was ruining everything. Not just Elysia. That old hag too. Declan's mother.Ever since the incident at the hospital—ever since Declan had broken the news of her pregnancy to his mother—everything had gone sour.Instead of accepting her into the Windsor family the way she'd expected, Eleanor had even completely shut her out.And Declan...Declan hadn't come home in two weeks. That was what was driving her insane.Victoria picked up her phone again and unlocked it.She scrolled through her contacts before tapping on a number. It rang twice before the call connected."What now?" a gruff voice answered im

Declan stumbled back a step.Every single word they'd said was true. But the one that lingered...The one that refused to leave his head… Was the part about Elysia crying herself to sleep."One last thing, Mr. Windsor," Elysia's sister said. "If you have a shred of decency left..."She looked him straight in the eye."...you'll sign the divorce papers and set my sister free."Declan slowly lifted his gaze to meet hers. She held it for a second longer before turning around and walking back into the house with her daughter.Nicole remained where she was. She looked at him one last time. Then… She shut the door in his face. The sound echoed through the quiet afternoon. For a long moment, Declan simply stood there. He felt like a cat that had just been drenched in freezing water.Slowly… He turned around and walked back toward the estate gates.Divorce.Divorcing Elysia wasn't that simple. If he signed those papers… He'd lose her. He'd lose the child she was carrying. He'd lose every chan

"Okay... good." Victoria smiled into the phone."I'll be there in half an hour... maybe an hour." She paused to listen. "You already know what to do."Declan glanced at her but said nothing. She was smiling. Not the fake, pitiful smile she'd worn back at W Holdings. This one looked genuine. Like she'd just won an award. Or conquered something she'd been chasing for a long time. When the call ended, she casually dropped the phone onto her lap and leaned back against the seat. She didn't cling to his arm this time. She didn't rest her head on his shoulder either. She simply sat there… Smiling to herself."Won the lottery?" Declan muttered as he looked away. The car slowed to a stop at the gates of the new villa.Ever since buying the place… He'd barely spent a night there."Oh..." Victoria laughed softly. "It's much better than winning the lottery."She lowered a hand to her stomach, gently rubbing it."I'm securing the future of our baby."Her smile widened. Then she leaned against hi

"Elysia!" Kai shouted as he ran into the abandoned building.Nicholas followed right behind him without a second thought."Spread out! Don't let a single one of them escape!" the detective barked at his men.The officers immediately split up, disappearing into different parts of the building with their guns raised.Declan rushed in after them.Inside the building, one of the abductors had Elysia locked in a chokehold, a gun pressed against the side of her head.A few feet away, Jade lay in a pool of her own blood."Please..." Elysia sobbed. "She's dying... please save her."The abductor's eyes widened the moment the warehouse doors were kicked open.Men rushed in from every direction. Some of the policemen had already entered through the other entrances, completely surrounding the building. There was nowhere left to run."Jade!"Nicholas's eyes widened at the sight before him.Jade was lying on the floor, clutching the side where she'd been shot. Blood had already soaked through her c

"Ely!"Camille's voice rang through the emergency hallway the moment she burst out of the elevator.Nicole and Rémy were right behind her, all three of them having rushed over the instant Camille called from the hospital.Elysia slowly lifted her head. The moment Camille saw her younger sister, her steps faltered.Blood.There was blood everywhere. It stained Elysia's sweater, soaked into her sleeves and covered both trembling hands. Even her cheeks carried faint crimson smears where she'd unknowingly brushed them. For one horrifying second, Camille thought it was Elysia's.Her heart nearly stopped."Elysia..." she whispered, rushing toward her.She dropped to her knees in front of her sister and grabbed her shoulders with shaking hands, frantically looking her over."Are you hurt? Where are you bleeding? Tell me where you're hurt."Elysia stared at her blankly before slowly shaking her head."It's... it's not mine."The words barely left her lips before her voice cracked."It's Kai's
