Semua Bab The Mistake He Regrets.: Bab 41 - Bab 50

“I'd like to see Alistair Windsor, please.”Victoria stood in the lobby of W Holdings headquarters, her baby bump rounded and visible beneath the white designer dress she wore.Everything about her screamed expensive.Pampered and untouchable. The oversized sunglasses resting on her face and the elegant hat perched neatly on her head made it difficult to tell whether she was dressed that way for fashion...Or simply to provoke a reaction.“Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked politely.Victoria rolled her eyes. The audacity of these minimum-wage workers was honestly getting out of hand.“Do I need an appointment to see my father-in-law?” she asked, holding out one perfectly manicured hand as she admired her nails, sounding more bored than offended.Father-in-law?The receptionist stared at her for a brief moment before regaining her composure.“I'll call to inform him.” Her voice remained just as polite. She picked up the phone and dialed the chairman's office.Victoria

“H-Help me… please.” Victoria called out again. The pain had become unbearable. Her white dress was now stained both in front and behind, the crimson spreading so quickly it made her breathing hitch. Every cramp felt sharper than the last, twisting through her abdomen until she could barely stay upright. She tried reaching for her phone again, but her trembling fingertips only managed to push it farther away. It scraped uselessly across the polished floor, just beyond her reach no matter how desperately she stretched for it.Two of the company's staff who were passing by heard her.“Oh my God…” one of them gasped before immediately running towards Victoria.“Call an ambulance!” she shouted to her colleague, who instantly pulled out her phone and began dialing. “She's bleeding!”Within seconds, a small panicked crowd had already formed around the elevator. A few employees stood frozen in shock while others hurried over, unsure whether to help or give her space. Someone crouched bes

Kai kissed her passionately the moment he laid her down on the large, fluffy bed.Elysia wrapped both arms around his neck, refusing to let go. She melted completely into the feeling of his lips against hers, kissing him back with the same quiet desperation she'd been holding back for months.Somewhere on the bed, her phone suddenly began to ring.Kai instinctively started to pull away, but Elysia tightened her arms around him."Don't..." she whispered against his lips. "Let it ring."A smile tugged at the corner of Kai's mouth before he captured her lips again, kissing her even deeper.Elysia slowly lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer. She could feel something firm pressing lightly against her stomach beneath the fabric of his sweatpants.Kai finally broke the kiss, both of them breathing harder than before.Without taking his eyes off her, he reached behind his neck and pulled his shirt over his head in one smooth motion before tossing i

“Ma'am, you can't leave yet.” The nurse said, offering her an apologetic smile.Victoria sat upright on the hospital bed, arms crossed, a stubborn frown on her face.“What do you mean I can't leave yet?” she asked, folding her arms across her chest. “I just said, I feel perfectly fine and I want to be discharged.”The nurse gave her a small helpless smile. What kind of mother miscarried her child, didn't even look heartbroken, and insisted on leaving the hospital less than twenty-four hours after being brought in?“We still need to keep you under observation, and we also need your husband's signature before we can discharge you.” the nurse explained.Victoria scoffed. How much more annoying could this woman possibly get?She needed to get out of this place immediately. She only had five hours left before the banquet, and there were still a few loose ends she needed to tie up before everything was set in perfect motion.“I don't have a husband.” she said flatly.Declan wouldn't care e

“What is the meaning of this, Elysia?” Declan stepped closer. He reached for her arm, but Kai's hand immediately wrapped around his wrist and gently shoved it back.“What are you doing?” Declan roared quietly. “That is my wife.”Victoria hurried forward and wrapped her hand around Declan's arm, her eyes fixed on Elysia.Kai chuckled mockingly while Elysia simply scoffed.Jade and Nicholas's car pulled up behind them, and Camille stepped out from the back seat before immediately making her way over.“Is this how the St. Laurents are going to behave?” Declan demanded self-righteously.Camille stopped and scoffed, glancing behind her as Jade, Nicholas and Nicole stepped out of the car.By now, the reporters had turned their attention towards the confrontation, cameras flashing furiously as they captured every second.“Excuse me?” Camille folded her arms across her chest. “What exactly do you mean by that?”“You let my wife come in here on another man's arm?” Declan said furiously. “Are y
