Ambrose's POVIt took us about an hour to reach the council territory after the messengers left. An hour of silence, dust, and the worst ride to a complete waste of my time. “Silliest news ever” barely described it. Thor rode beside me, jaw tight. Our four-man convoy kept a fast pace behind us, but none of us spoke. As we approached, the council walls rose in the distance, tall and unwelcoming and with every step closer my stomach twisted tighter as I desperately tried to keep my anger in check.
