Amanda's POV

Our eyes stayed locked together for a second more and I quickly looked away, while forcing my hand out of his grip. To my surprise, he let go. I stormed out of the dinning room and back to my room hoping to ignore the heat and its embarrassment.

“I just need to sleep.” I whispered, trying to reassure myself.

Sleep never came, of course it didn’t.

And every ticking moment I spent on that bed felt like hell, my body was tingling and senses were on high alert. I needed someone, any

Amanda's POV“My lady, where do I even start with my questions?” Emily groaned as she brushed my hair. I stared into the mirror and my reflection stared right back, almost unfamiliar. “I don’t think I have the answers you seek..” I muttered back. That’s untrue, but she doesn’t need to know that. My heart was heavy with a mixture of excitement and anger. Excited that I finally reached my wolf and not only did I transform, she spoke to me!Nothing on the face of this earth is able to rip the joy of that from me. As for the anger, I won’t rest until I find out why Kattie and Jane are now on the same team to the extent of planning an ambush and kidnap. Was I that much of a threat? Jane I could understand… but Kattie? Emily was done brushing my hair and held it up with some pins. I needed nothing more than to just lay in my bed and savor the beauty of my white wolf. But a knock on my door pulled me back to the present and I glanced towards it immediately. “Come in!” I ordered. Thor wa

  • The Alpha Who Couldn't Forget   Chapter 24: Found

Thor's POVLady Jane is someone I despised even more each time I saw her. And I hate that she parades herself around the castle like it belonged to her, like she didn’t reject King Ambrose for another man only to come running back like the world was hers. I remember how much the king suffered from this. The effect of the rejection tore him to shreds and just when he was recovering, just when he was starting to find something new she thinks she can ruin it. The news of her missing family heirloom was a ruse no doubt and so during the search, I kept my eyes on her the whole time. Following her every move and noticing the changes in her body language. Soon she spotted something in the grass, I stood behind a tree and watched her cover it up with leaves. After she left, I stepped out of my hiding and walked up to where she stood and there in the cold dirt lay Lady Amanda. “That vile woman.” I whispered but I knew better than to raise an alarm. If she was found at that moment, she woul

Ambrose's Pov As I got closer to the gates of my territory, a different kind of wind settled on my body and I let out a soft sigh. The castle was oddly quiet. Not that there used to be any noise before now, just that I felt a difference in the air. Darkness was creeping in faster and all I wanted was to freshen up and have dinner immediately. “Welcome his majesty, Alpha Ambrose!” Thor announced as I climbed out of the carriage and every servant halted, lowering their heads until I could see the center of each head. “Thank you Thor…” I muttered, patting his shoulder before handing him my coat. “Is dinner ready?” I asked the moment I walked in and the house keeper walked up to me. “Yes, your majesty.” She said and stepped aside. I went up to my room and had a quick cold bath before returning to the dining room. The sweet aroma of food watered my mouth and I dropped into my chair, diving into my meal without wasting any time. Halfway into dinner, I noticed the hall felt empty fo

  • The Alpha Who Couldn't Forget   Chapter 22: The Fight

Amanda's POVI turned into the majestic white wolf. The same one I thought had deserted me for good, it was there and I’d never felt more glorious. The rogues froze in place, their eyes wide with shock. Of course they knew what it meant to be a white wolf and I took a minute to relish in their surprise and disappointment. “I thought she was meant to be wolfless!” The leader growled, his voice cracking on the last word.No one responded, they were all too busy looking at me realizing they had made a mistake.“We must complete the mission, white wolf or not.” He spat. They were still going to kill me, I had to make a run for it. The leader’s voice cut through the silence and straight into my bones while I stood there thinking of a way out. “No one runs,” he barked, eyes locked on me. “She doesn’t leave here alive.” He added, taking a step closer. He dropped his head low, shoulders rolling. His body and bone muscle shifted under his skin with a wet, brutal sound that made my stomach

Amanda's POV I could hear the buying and snarling of their teeth as they surrounded me. I turned around, desperate for a chance to flee but there was no way out. They surrounded me. With the part of my sanity that wasn’t clouded by fear, I counted about seven of them. Three to my right, two to my left, one in front and the last one at the back. “What do you want?!” The words ripped out of me and sent birds running from their shelter in the trees. Immediately, a branch cracked from one of the bushes beside me and I quietly turned towards it.There he was. Stepping out from behind the thick bush like he’d been there waiting. He had a thick scar dragging across his forehead, pale against his skin. His arms were mapped with bruises both old and fresh ones, all of them telling stories he hadn’t said out loud.Normal features you’d expect from rogues but I wanted to know why I’d been set up and what the hell was happening. He didn’t answer. Just stood there, eyes locked on mine, lik

Ambrose's POVIt took us about an hour to reach the council territory after the messengers left. An hour of silence, dust, and the worst ride to a complete waste of my time. “Silliest news ever” barely described it. Thor rode beside me, jaw tight. Our four-man convoy kept a fast pace behind us, but none of us spoke. As we approached, the council walls rose in the distance, tall and unwelcoming and with every step closer my stomach twisted tighter as I desperately tried to keep my anger in check. The carriage rode to a stop and I climbed down, my patience already wearing thin. “Fetch some food and water for the horses, it was a long ride.” I ordered the four men. “Yes, your majesty.” They chorused, getting to work immediately. Thor walked closely behind me as I made way for the meeting room. He would not be let in but still he chose to follow me anyway, and that was what true loyalty meant. I reached the massive wooden doors and even before I touched them, voices leaked through

Ambrose's Pov The kingdom stretched out below me, all movement and noise, people going about their lives with the kind of careless ease I hadn't known in years, maybe ever. Amanda's POV I woke to bright light filtering in through the windows I usually never forget to close. Thin, gold rays cut across the room and found my eyes before I was ready for them. I pried them open, slow and gritty from sleep and my hand lifted on instinct immediately shielding my gaze. T
