ELARA“ What—What are you doing?” I stammered, kicking my feet back to get him off me. But he just put his hands on my back and pressed. The heat spreading throughout my back instantly turned to pain. I suppressed a gasp, and tried to rise again but I couldn’t do it when he had me pinned on my stomach like this. “ Al—Alpha Alaric. This is inappropriate. Please— ”“ Don’t overthink. I am just helping you put some balm on your injuries.” He replied, but his tone had changed. It became deeper, huskier as if his thoughts were as scattered as mine. I turned my head and glanced at him from the corner of my eyes. His eyes were moving down the length of my bare back, to my white panties, my butt, my naked legs. There was something dark in those eyes, something so dangerously bleak that it sped up my heartbeat some more. “ Alpha— ”“ I have seen all kind of women. With and without clothes, little trouble. So you don't need to worry." Alpha Alaric whispered, but his eyes were still d

ELARAAfter he was done tending to my injuries, he put the bottle down and slowly placed my foot back on the bed. Instantly, I moved back, putting some distance between us.By now, I was just glad that my heart had not jumped out of my mouth at his shenanigans.“ Feeling better? ” He asked, putting the cap back on the bottle.I nodded, my gaze fixed on my lap as I refused to focus on his face when I looked like a ripe tomato.“ Good. ” Alpha Alaric hummed and went to take a seat on the wingchair again.I released a breath I had been holding since he came so near, and sat up straight. Thank Goddess!“ Now, it’s about time you answer some real questions, Princess. ” He added in a lazy tone.My breath hitched in my throat once more. I placed a hand on my chest and glanced his way, only to find him intensely staring at me.“ First of all, what’s your name? ” His head tilted, his brows lifting under his messy hair.My jaw almost hung low as I stared at his face, feeling completely dumbfoun

ELARAHis eyes narrowed on me, taking on a dangerous edge that was so hard to miss. And I felt my soul departing from my body, knowing what was coming next.“ Lucien’s Pack? ” He hummed, his lips curling into a malicious smirk.I hesitated for only a moment and nodded. “ Yes. ”A vein ticked in his jaw as he leaned back and spread his legs. My gaze lowered to the lump between his thick thighs. My cheeks flared, and my heart missed a beat.He was…big.I coughed slightly, forcing myself to avert my attention anywhere else than…that.“ Not going to explain anything, huh? ” His brows lifted as he tapped the armrest with his fingers.I shook my head, trying to regain some sense. I didn’t know why, but whenever this man appeared in front of me, I just started checking him out as if he was a piece of snack.I couldn’t seem to stop myself anymore. There was a strange heat bubbling under my skin, and it worsened with every encounter.“ I… ” I exhaled a heavy breath. “ I am just a healer in Alp

ELARA“ I am SUPPOSED to be loyal to him. ” I chuckled awkwardly, and my eyes glanced all around, trying to come up with something. “ but I am not? ”“ Why is that? ” He licked his lips and hid the smirk that was widening.“ It’s because…uhm… ” I trailed off and sighed. “ he overworks me! ”Alpha Alaric blinked, and his brows lifted. “ overworks you? ”“ Yes! ” I nodded quickly. “ he overworks me. He takes money from other people and brings them to me so I can cure them, too. He does this almost every day. Curing the Pack members is already a lot of work, but he lines up people, and I have to keep working and working and working. I get sick and tired. In the end…he doesn’t even… ”“ Doesn’t even what? ” He frowned.“ Doesn’t even pay me either, you know. Because he is my Alpha, he just gives me shelter and food, and some clothes. Nothing else. ” I sighed, my shoulders dropping as I twisted the lie, making it more and more believable. “ I have been working under these conditions for to

ELARAI crouched down and ran my fingers along the small patch of grass, pretending so hard to be looking for some hidden herb only I could see.The hair on the back of my neck was raised because I could feel his intense gaze following every stroke of my fingers.Since he pulled me to this forbidden forest, he didn’t leave me alone for even a moment. He was standing over my head and was breathing down my neck like a dragon who was about to exhale fire on me at any moment.Sighing, I finally turned my head and looked up at his narrowed eyes. “ Alpha Alaric. ”“ Yeah? ” He took his gaze off my hands and glanced into my round eyes instead. “ What’s wrong? ”“ If you keep breathing down my neck like this, I won’t be able to focus. And if I don’t focus, I won’t find what I am looking for. ” I huffed, my knees feeling numb from crouching down for too long.“ So? What do you want me to do? ” His brows lifted.I felt like hitting my head against a tree. Why did he have to be so vigilant about

ELARAStars exploded behind my eyes. His lips were warm against mine and so sinfully soft—softer than I imagined when I was looking at him earlier. My breath whooshed out of my lungs as a strong current shot through my body. I stumbled back, completely taken aback but he circled his arm around my waist and pulled me back in. I fell on my heels, my lips lowering to his chin. My heart trembled inside my chest as my eyes flew open and landed on his Adams apple. He swallowed, making it bob. “ What was this?” He breathed, his free hand landing on my chin to crane my neck back, forcing me to look into his deep eyes. His gaze darkened. He leaned in, his nose brushing mine as he exhaled another warm breath against my still tingling lips. “ Do you like me or something?” He tilted his head, a smirk spreading across his deliciously warm lips. My heart missed a sudden beat. I shook my head, denying his claim but then something clicked in my head. Once, the Beta’s daughter Levadia s

ELARAI ground Fiora with a few more herbs and then took out the paste into a small bowl. Alpha Alaric still stood over my head like a strict supervisor.I glared at him from over my shoulder and pushed the bowl towards him. He took it and inspected the green paste.“ That’s it? ” He asked.I nodded quickly. “ Yes, Alpha Alaric. ”“ You are saying this will recover a wolf’s healing powers? ” His brows lifted, suspicion flickering across his eyes. “ Really? ”I nodded again but didn’t say anything to him. He continued, rotating the plate as if the paste would grow wings if he stared at it hard enough. After he was done trying to bring something out of it, his eyes went white. Taking it as a sign that he was mindlinking someone, I leaned back and stared at the room I was in.This room looked too big and too luxurious to be a guest room. The black curtains lined the glass walls, hiding whatever view lay behind them. They stretched from the ceiling all the way down to the polished dark fl

ELARA“ That’s enough! ” Alpha Alaric snapped when Beta Kael threw the bowl on the floor. His voice was quiet, but the room seemed to grow smaller the moment those three words left his mouth.Beta Kael stiffened instantly. The easy frustration on his face vanished, replaced by rigid discipline.“ Alpha... ” He whispered.“ I said… ” Alpha Alaric slowly turned his head towards him. “ That’s enough. You keep disrespecting the woman I have brought under my roof. ”Suddenly, the room filled with his Alpha aura. The air around me became unbearably heavy. My breath hitched in my throat. An invisible pressure settled over my shoulders, forcing every muscle in my body to tense. I instinctively stumbled back, and my heart began pounding against my ribs. So…This was his Alpha aura. It was dark and powerful. No wonder he had managed to keep Lucien at bay for so long.Even though the tone was not directed at me, my knees still weakened beneath me.Beta Kael, who was on the receiving end, just lo

ELARABlood spluttered out of Beta Kael’s mouth the moment he fell on the floor. Alpha Alaric kneeled beside his head and stared down, his eyes wide with fury and confusion. “ Kael!” He patted his cheek but the other man’s eyes rolled back. My head dropped. I stood frozen on my spot, watching all that blood oozing out of Beta Kael’s mouth while his lips began turning blue and his face turned pale. Instantly, a thought clicked in my head. Beta Kael was poisoned! My heart dropped. I opened my mouth but before I could say anything, the doors slammed open and several Pack guards rushed inside. They were dressed in simple black T-shirts and pants. “ Seize her!” Alpha Alaric growled at his guards. Instantly, two of them rushed to my side and grabbed my arms from both sides. I gasped, my instincts kicking in. “ Alpha Alaric!” I turned to the man but he was hidden behind the guards and I could no longer see him. Instead, I heard him addressing the rest of them. “ Call the heal

ELARA“ What did you do to him? ” He crossed the distance between us and gripped my throat.I yelped as he pushed me against the wall, making my head hit the hard surface. Instantly, I wrapped my own hand around his wrist, trying to make him let me go, but who was I kidding? There was no way I could free myself of an Alpha’s hold.“ What did you do? ” He growled, his face nearing mine. “ why did you poison him? ”“ I— ” I croaked, only for his hold to tighten until I could no longer breathe. My face turned red, and my lungs began to ache. The edges of my vision were blackening, threatening to push me over the edge. The pressure around my neck was too much but…He could have crushed my neck or snapped it in one go if he wanted. Instead, he was choosing to choke me.I thrashed against him, kicking out my feet and my fist to get him off me, but I was already losing energy.Pain spread to every inch of my body until the numbness began taking over.Just when everything turned dark around m
