ELARAWhen I got to Beta Kael’s room, a dozen people surrounded his bed while he lay there, motionless.“ Get out. ” Alpha Alaric followed me inside and sneered.Instantly, the noise around me disappeared. ALARIC“ I am saving his life. ” She said, and made me step back.I watched her blood trickling down the length of her arm and dropping everywhere on the bed. I couldn’t fucking make sense of it.How was she trying to save Kael by shedding so much of her own blood?A frown settled between my brows as I fought the urge to step forward and stop her bleeding.But to my surprise, she looked unfazed as she reached for a glass filled with water on the bedside table. I tried the door to the room and found it the same.He locked me up because he knew I would try to run away the first chance I got.Helpless and out of ideas, I just opted for a warm shower. After I was done, I came out of the room, wrapped in a fluffy towel, smelling like his shampoo and his body wash.For some reason, the scent of his products had me sighing. I squeezed my legs together and crossed my arms over my chest, hiding it from his view. He was not looking at me but I still felt my skin tingling. His jaw tightened. The muscles beneath his skin flexed once before he released a slow breath through his nose. Without saying a word, he crouched down. I yelped, jumping in my spot. My eyes followed him, confused.His large hand reached for the towel lying around my feet. His fingers brushed against the soft fabric before he lifted it effortlessly from the floor. His expression was still hard, as if he was on the verge of refusing, but then his eyes slid to my hand over the knot.“ Okay. My shoulder slumped as I took in a few sharp breaths.Given his reaction, I might be wrong about him using me as revenge, but he was definitely going to be more cautious.
