Travis "Trav. Trav!" I snapped back to the present, blinking in confusion. "What?" Neal shot me a strange look. "You totally zoned out man. What the hell? Are you okay?" "Yeah. Sure." Travis Everybody liked home games, and I guess I was the exception. There was something special about beating a team on their home turf. It made winning that much better. Sure, we didn't get the thunderous cheers and generally, we had to stay sharp after the game because of angry fans that could get brave enough to attempt to fuck with us, but the booing was nothing compared to the high. Hunter I stared down at the tent in my sleeping pants, irritation working it's way through me while I tried to convince myself that it was normal. Just a regular response to the fact that I was in a soft, comfortable bed and about to play my first away game in the major leagues with a chance at winning. The Red Rogers had been a great team in the sense that the guys were laid back and they were all about enjoying your time on the ice.But I had never fit in there. I had known it and so had they. Sure, having fun was great and all, but I craved the burn and sweat of going to war on the ice and coming out triumphant. I wanted to win. Travis I couldn't for the life of me remember the blonde's name even though she had mentioned it twice. I thought about asking a third time but decided that it wasn't worth it. I didn't need to know her name to enjoy what was about to happen here. "I watched your game tonight." Hunter The only reason I heard the knock on the door was because all my senses had been laser focused on that door for the past two hours or so. So by the time the knock sounded, I was already leaping out of the bed and lunging for it. My senses came back right on time and I paused, waiting for the second knock to sound. Travis I braced for the punch. The guy's fist came at me fast, his face twisted with rage, and I tightened every muscle in my body, preparing for the impact. But it never came. Instead, there was a grunt, followed by a loud thud. My eyes flew open in time to see the guy sailing through the air and crashing against the dumpster, and suddenly standing before me was none other than Hunter, breathing hard, chest rising and falling and his blue eyes blazing in the dim streetlight. "What the-" The other two guys released me immediately and went after him. My eyes went wide, and I tried to get up and help, but I only ended up stumbling and falling down on my ass. Hunter "Yo Bailey, you down?" My head snapped up and I found several sets of eyes watching me. I blinked, confused. "Sorry, what's going on?" "We're doing a charity fundraiser event for kids with disabilities." One of the guys informed me. "We've been doing it every year for the past three years, but this year it's going to be way bigger. We're having press coverage and the goal is to get the word out there, get as much donations as possible." "Yeah, sure." I agreed with a shrug. "Sounds great." "Really?" He looked excited. "So far, I've only been able to get Sammy, cap and the goalie in on it. The others would much rather just send in their donations." "Quit making us look like assholes." Another teammate whined. "By the middle of the season, we're all just beat and want to get some rest. It's the donations that matter anyway." "No way." The first guy argued. "Sure, the donations matter but these kids see us as their heroes. They get really excited to see us."

Travis I'd barely crossed the front door when Mrs. Johnson announced that my father expected me to be at one of his business launch event in a few hours. "I'm beat." I told her, trying not to snap at her. "Do I really have to be there?" I hated going for those stuffy things. Years of wearing tailored suits and ties hadn't reduced my hatred for the things. These events always went exactly the same way. First, Dad would show me off to his friends and partners, talk about my stats and the last goal I scored.
