Hunter Her hands were too soft. That thought replayed in my head again and again as I tried to think about something pleasurable. My head filled with images of tits, the last woman I slept with who was absolutely voracious, women's plump skin, their perfect lips. The pleasure stayed buried six feet under. I squeezed my eyes shut, frustrated. Here I was with a sexy woman who wanted me, and I couldn't even get it up. What the hell was wrong with me? I couldn't even blame it on alcohol cause I didn't indulge. Maybe I was exhausted. That had to be it. My body wasn't yet fully recovered from it's ordeal. "I've got a little something that would help you." The tattooed woman whispered in my ear, not sounding discouraged at all. Which just made me feel even worse. "Nah, I'm good." I sighed, opening my eyes. "Rain check?" "Oh." Disappointment flashed in her eyes for a second, but then she covered it up with another smile. "Sure, babe." She was a beautiful, badass woman who looked like

Hunter I stood rooted to the spot long after Jack’s truck had vanished around the bend, my pulse still pounding in my ears.Thirty days.Coach O’Brien. The words echoed through my skull like a broken record.Beside me, my mother hadn’t moved. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest, her gaze fixed on the empty road as though Jack might suddenly reappear.I swallowed, then turned to her. “We need to go to the police.”She didn’t even look at me. “No.”I stared at her. “No? What do you mean no?” I repeated. Her head snapped toward me. “I said no.”“Mum_”“I heard you the first time.”My temper flared. “Jack just threatened us! Did you hear him?"“He blackmailed us.”“He threatened us with prison!”She rounded on me so fast I instinctively took a step back. “And whose fault would that be?” she hissed. The words hit harder than I expected.I clenched my jaw. “So that’s it?” I asked quietly. “We just let him extort us?”Her laugh was hollow. “You think the police are going to save u

HunterWatching hockey when I was supposed to be playing it was torture. I sat halfway up the arena stands with my elbows braced on my knees, glaring holes into the ice while our team warmed up below. The roar of the crowd rolled around me in waves, but all I could hear was the scrape of skates carving fresh lines into the rink. That should’ve been me. Instead, I was stuck wearing jeans and a team hoodie like some glorified mascot. My fingers curled into fists. This was all Travis' fault. The asshole probably enjoyed reminding me he could bench me whenever he pleased.Down on the ice, Law skated backward while chirping at Sammy. Sammy responded by spraying him with a shower of ice, earning a loud string of curses that carried all the way up into the stands.“Mind if I sit?”I glanced sideways. Zahara smiled politely, already lowering herself into the empty seat beside me.“Pretty sure it’s public seating.” I drawled, more than a little suspicious that she had chosen to sit at my side

Travis I was undoing the lace on my skating shoes when someone let out a quiet 'holy shit'. I whirled around immediately, and noticed that most of the guys' attention was fixed on the flat screen TV hanging at the far wall of the locker room. Confused, I drifted toward the gathering crowd. "... As of this morning_" a middle aged reporter was saying. "The NHL has already released an official statement following the statement put up by the two eye witnesses at the time of the assault. The case of star player Neal Matthews attacking a fan at the beginning of the season caused large waves in the media, with him apologizing and both his team management and league removing him temporarily from the team roster until further investigation." My stomach lurched. "Investigation has been ongoing with only one witness agreeing to speak up, but that all changed last night when they finally spoke up to defend Mr. Matthews." The man continued. "According to the statement by the witnesses, Mr. Ma

Travis "Damn bro, you're going to get yourself killed." Sammy huffed as I lifted the bar over my head one more time, muscles straining. I shot him a smirk. "Giving up doesn't get you arms like this." "I'd rather be alive than be 100 percent muscle and dead." He quipped, grabbing the weight when my arms began to falter. Laughing, I sat up, wiping the sweat off my forehead with my arm just as Neal appeared, pushing his head phones off. He glanced over at the weight I had just been lifting and whistled. "You crazy bastard." "Crazy and suicidal." Sammy was quick to add. "If you die now, you'll miss Matthews come back."My stomach lurched violently. I frowned at the strange feeling rising within me. Maybe it was a bad case of reflux or something. Neal rolled his eyes. "Come back makes it look like I'm about to swoop back in and singlehandedly carry the team to the finals. It's nothing special."Sammy gaped at him, then slowly turned to me, looking incredulous. "Are you listening to
