Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Heir's Child: Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

When we pull into the diner, I am happy to see all of our friends waiting outside for us. It is one of those old school diners where you almost expect the wait staff to be rolling around on skates, delivering burgers and milkshakes. They do have the burgers and milkshakes, they do not have the skates though. Instead, all of the staff wear shoes that are reminiscent of bowling shoes.I smile as Lyall comes over to open the door and help me into the wheelchair. By the shocked look on their faces, he did not warn them of the wheelchair before we got here. I cannot blame him as I did not warn him either but I almost wish that I did not have to see the look of shocked sadness on their faces as he wheels me over to them.Their eyes instantly glaze over as Lyall must mind link them to fill them in on what all happened. River looks down like she is studying her shoes as he speaks. I can almost feel the immense sadness coming from her while he finishes filling her in.I spare a glance at Mel t

After lunch, Lyall loads me back into his truck and takes me to the pack house. Just like with all pack houses, ours has rooms with activities for all ages. When we were toddlers, we used to stay in rooms that the Luna oversaw. The Luna of each pack always takes interest in the youngest members of a pack. It is almost like it is in their DNA to be motherly. As we got older, we got to play in the game rooms that are practically a full on arcade. There are old fashioned pin ball games, arcade games and an entire wall full of televisions and gaming consoles. There are even mini fridges full of snacks for all of the kids to enjoy after school. For the even older children, as well as those that just need a recreational activity, there is a pool, air hockey, foosball table and even a hot tub. The adults also have access to a sauna and a massage room. As we all start military style training at a young age, we all have to be able to take care of ourselves as well. The term train hard and pla

Outside the dressing rooms, the boys are waiting for us next to the pool. They both look a little nervous as we walk out, like they were getting worried about us. They were definitely both talking about me though. The way that they cut off mid sentence is a dead give away. "Get on over here." Mel yells with mock enthusiasm.Even though I cannot fall for his ruse completely, I still smile as River pushes me over to where they are.Lyall shares a quick, concerned glance with River before she stops the wheel chair next to the pool. Luckily, the pool is sometimes used to help injured werewolves recover after some pretty freak accidents, so we happen to have an entire set up for somebody that is injured to get into the pool. There is a sling that all I have to do is sit on, that lowers me into the pool and helps support me as I settle into the water. As with all werewolves, and even humans if it is to be believed, as soon as I reach the weightlessness of the pool, I immediately begin to f

After the mention of me losing weight, the pool loses a little bit of it's previous fun. Just enough that we all decide to go and watch a movie in the theatre room instead. After River helps me change out of my swimsuit once again that is.The theatre room here is so far beyond any public theatre that you could go to. There are couch style chairs, loveseat chairs and single chairs. They are all placed far enough apart from the one next to them that they can lounge back into almost a full bed.Lyall pushes me over to one of the loveseat ones and helps me maneuver into it. I smile at him gratefully as I unsuccessfully try to push the back of the seat back on my own. He laughs slightly as I struggle before helping me lower it back."This larger one will be easier for you to be in. You can keep your food and drinks right on the seat with you and it will be easier to help you out of when we are done." He explains.I smile at his thoughtfullness as we all settle in to pick a movie. Normally

Lyall helps me into my wheelchair once again so that we can head to the pack kitchen for some much needed snacks. River picks up my blanket and takes it to the corner where a maid will come by later to grab it. "Okay, so...maybe we will avoid ice cream this time. There are plenty of other snacks to choose from." Troy points out."I am not very hungry right now if I am being honest." I tell them. "That's new. We can do something else if you don't want to eat." Lyall offers."No thanks. I will go with you guys and hopefully find something that sounds good when we get there." I tell him with a pointed look at my much skinnier frame than before. He smiles as he wheels me towards the kitchen. Everyone is starting to act more like themselves now that we have been hanging out for the last few hours. I did not realize how much I had missed them being themselves until this moment. "I am going to have some pulled pork nachos." River says enthusiastically when we reach the door."With lots o
