Those Who See the Comments Vanish のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 1 - チャプター 8

Silence descended upon the room after my roommate, Quinn Lawrence, disappeared.I looked at my other two roommates, Rosalie Walters and Tiffany Norton. We tried to push the door open again to no avail. It didn't even budge an inch.My heart hammered wildly in my chest as I looked at the wall of comments before me. A thin layer of sweat beaded across my forehead.I knew without a doubt that the person that the commenters were looking for was me.After I changed majors during my junior year in university, I developed a crush on the campus heartthrob, Seth Sterling. At first, Seth treated me indifferently. He wasn't moved in the slightest, no matter how I tried to show my affection for him. However, things changed three months ago when I realized that I could see comments floating in the air around him. They told me about his likes and dislikes, and whether he was in a good or bad mood.Using those hints, I got closer to Seth, one step at a time.I thought that Lady Luck was fina

The door was sealed again, trapping Tiffany and me in the room.I texted everyone that I could, begging them for help. I sent distress messages on WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Twitter. I even posted a cry for help on Facebook. However, no one responded even after an hour had passed.Tiffany also pulled out her phone and tried to call for help, but the results were the same.We exchanged glances but didn't say a word. Instead, we just quietly sat on the couch.Truth be told, the situation that we were stuck in was a little ridiculous. There were four of us in our dorm, but we had been stuck in a cold war for the past year because of Seth. All four of us liked him. We even fought over him in the past, but he kept us at arm's length. He replied to all our messages but rejected all our attempts to ask him on a date. He accepted all our gifts but refused to spare us even another glance.I had only managed to get closer to him after I began seeing the comments three months ago, using the h

The back of my head felt like it was splitting apart by the time I came to. My hands and feet were restrained with rope, and there was a wad of cloth stuffed into my mouth.I was lying on the cold floor of an unfamiliar room. The curtains were drawn tight over the windows, and the only source of light came from a dim lamp on the bedside cabinet.Seth sat in a chair opposite me. He twirled a fruit knife in his hand, looking immensely calm as if he was just waiting for a food delivery."You're awake?" he asked as he tilted his head and looked at me. "You can drop the act now, Clara."He stood up and squatted in front of me, using the back of the blade to tap my face lightly."I already noticed that something was amiss from the first day you tried to get close to me. You suddenly knew that I preferred black coffee and that I liked playing basketball. You also knew the songs that I liked. "It didn't make sense that you, someone who had just transferred majors, knew me like the ba

After Seth and I were taken to the interrogation room, I handed over all the evidence I had, including chat logs, recordings, and transfer records.Seth had transferred some money to Willow before she ended her own life, and a note had been attached to the transfer."Stop bothering me."Willow's mother had been crying so hard that she could barely keep her balance as she handed the relevant documents to me for safekeeping."My daughter told me that the biggest regret of her life was getting to know him."The police officers fell silent for a long time after looking through the evidence.…Meanwhile, news of Seth being arrested by the police spread like wildfire among the students. The so-called female lead, the woman whom the commenters cherished like a precious treasure, texted me after she learned the truth."I didn't know that the song that he recommended to me was your friend's favorite."My eyes stung as I stared at the screen. The song had been Willow's favorite.Afte
