All Chapters of No Longer His Perfect Luna: Chapter 11 - Chapter 20

ZARAI don't remember falling asleep in the car.I only remember waking to warmth real warmth, not the borrowed kind I've been surviving on for three years and the sound of voices rising outside the window before we've even come to a full stop."They're already here?" I ask, rubbing my eyes.Lucas smiles at me, and it's nothing like Alex's smiles. There's no calculation in it, no guilt hiding behind the curve of his mouth."Father wanted to celebrate you properly," he says. "You've been gone long enough, little sister. He's not wasting another hour."The gates of the Shadowmoon estate open, and for a moment I forget how to breathe.Lanterns line the entire driveway, gold and warm, nothing like the sterile silver of Alex's Moon Festival lights. Music spills from the courtyard. Wolves line the path on either side, and the moment the car door opens, they erupt into applause like I'm someone worth applauding for."Luna Zara!""The heiress has returned!"Heiress. The word still doesn't s

ZARA"Alpha Alex is asking for you."The words stop me mid-motion, needle suspended over the herb tray I've been preparing for tonight's summit.I set it down slowly."Here?" I ask. "At the gate?"The young healer nods, still slightly out of breath from crossing the estate. "He says it's urgent. Life or death. There's an injured man with him a Beta warrior, I think. Their own healers couldn't stabilize him."Three weeks, and the first time he comes looking for me, it isn't for me at all. It's for what I can do.Some old, foolish part of me wants to feel hurt by that. I don't let it. I press it down where I've learned to press down everything that used to make me small."Which warrior?" I ask instead."I didn't catch the name, Luna…" He stops himself, flushing. "Sorry. Miss Zara. I didn't catch the name."I don't correct the slip. Not yet. Whatever title I carry here, I'm not ready to hand it to a man standing at my gate who once told me not to bother coming back.I gather my things a

ALEXThe morning sun did not bring calm to the territory; it brought a roar of whispers. Walking out of the banquet hall, the noise hit me like a physical blow. The air was thick with the scent of roasted meats and heavy wine, but the conversations had long turned away from the alliance treaties. Everywhere I stepped, the corridors of the summit estate vibrated with a single name.Zara.I kept my chin high, my shoulders square, projecting the steady presence expected of an Alpha, but my mind was completely detached. I passed a group of visiting Alphas near the grand arched entrance. They didn’t notice me approaching, their heads bent close together."To think she was here the whole time," one was saying, shaking his head in genuine disbelief. "Shadowmoon’s lost daughter. And the remedies she crafted for the northern packs—brilliant work. Absolutely extraordinary.""A true healer," an elder from a neighboring territory agreed, his tone carrying a deep, unprompted respect. "Shadowmoon’

ALEXThe early morning sun broke through the heavy curtains of the guest estate, but it brought no rest. I sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing my face with both hands. Another night had passed, and another night I had barely slept. The large stone house provided for visiting Alphas felt cold and empty, despite the luxury surrounding me. No matter how hard I tried to focus on pack business or the upcoming alliance meetings, my mind kept drifting back to a single person.Zara.It was maddening. But what troubled me most wasn't the anger or the dramatic reveal at the summit. It was the quiet, ordinary memories that kept surfacing. I found myself remembering things I hadn't thought about in years. I remembered the long, grueling council meetings that lasted until midnight. I would return to my office, exhausted and frustrated, only to find a steaming cup of herbal tea sitting on my desk, wrapped in a cloth to keep it warm. I never asked who put it there; I just assumed it was the staf

Zara’s POV I went still for a few moment. My hands were at my sides, my eyes fixed on the man in front of me as my brain began processing if I was seeing things or not. “ Jae?” I called out again, my voice came out shaky and frail. My body was quivering, he smiled and spread his hands for a hug. This was what he had always done, but I hadn't seen him in a long time. He saw how I stood frozen.“ Why are you just looking at me?” He asked. With that he pulled me into his arms, his comforting scent flooded my mind as I lost a grip on my emotions as tears spilled from my eyes and streamed down my face. “ I-i-...”My words came out disjointed. His hands were still wrapped around my waist, my face was pressed into his hard chest as he forced me to look up into his eyes. And I cried harder. He didn't speak but the look in his eyes darkened as he dragged me towards the garden at the other side. I sat by his side, my head pressed to his shoulder as I continued crying and occasional hicc
