What if I fail?

Zara’s POV “ What if I fail?” I thought. I stared at the blank screen of the laptop, realizing that there was no way to undo what I had just done. There was no going back from this. But my heart didn't close up from sadness but fulfillment. “ Oh.” I let out a soft breath, it felt like I had been holding back without realizing. I had never realized the influence of Selene and Alexander in my life. They had forced a false narrative into my head. They made me believe that I was unworthy of anything good, though I said that it wasn't true. It turns out that my subconscious had been buried in that cocoon of not trying again. Until now. Well, that was until Jae, he forced me to see a different perspective. He introduced me to the younger Zara, who had always been eager to learn.I stared at the East Field’s website, they had the best healers and their healing faculty was top-notch.I couldn't lie. I was afraid that I would be faced with a rejection so I slammed the laptop shut and mo

Is he my replacement?

Alexander's POV “ Zara.” I whispered under my breath. My eyes moved to her face, her eyes glowed with the kind of happiness that she never had when she was with me and it made my chest tighten. She looked at me briefly before she turned away to the man by her side. That was the first time that I had seen him and something about the way that she had tugged his sleeve so they could leave made me boil.“ She's still her usual arrogant self.” Selene remarked. I didn't say anything, my eyes just followed her shadows as I noticed that the strange man had wrapped his hands around her exposed waist and before he left. He had turned, thrown a cold stare my way as he wrapped his coat around her shoulder and then they left together. “ Alex.” Selene mumbled. She drew my attention back to her, I looked at her with an absent look, my eyes were fixed on her lips but I didn't hear anything that she had just said as I just stared then she pinched me hard. The pain brought me back to my reality

I want that jewelry that she's putting

Alexander's POV “No! Never!” I gasped, I pushed my head into the water and lifted it in a swift movement. Zara was teasing my patience, she was pushing me beyond my limits and I hated the thought of that more than anything else. What pissed me off the most was how fast it was for her to replace me. like I meant nothing to her. "Fuck!" I screamed as I stumped my hand against the wall anger overwhelmed me. Only when I tried to calm down did I notice a slight cut on my hand and I was bleeding. The pain was sharp but it was nothing compared to the rage I was feeling within me.The voices in my head were just getting too strong, I pushed them all out as I refused to listen to it. I let out a sigh, grabbing the nearest towel to damp my wet body as I let out incessant hisses. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my packed physique and then comparing it to the other guy as I wondered what she had even seen in that other guy. I'm the perfect description of a handsome man so I wond

successful transaction?

Zara’s POV“ Selene, nice to see you again.” My eyes glowed with amusement as I looked at the man beside her. I didn't give him a nod nor greet him. My fingers were around on the jewelry in my hands as I refused to let it go. She noticed my hesitation as she turned to the cashier. “ I want to pay for the jewelry.” She said in the most snobbish voice that I had heard in a while. I just smiled, the corners of my lips curved as I placed the emerald necklace on the desk and I turned to leave. Selene's eyes glowed with excitement like she had just proved a point, she turned to Alexander and as expected, he handed her his card without a word. “I'm sure you haven't seen such a card before.” She chirped loudly, drawing the attention of the other customers in the shop as she waved the Platinum card in her hands. Jae snickered. That made Selene angry, she looked like she was about to spit fire at him as she placed a hand on her waist and asked loudly, “ What is a gigolo like you laughin

Why couldn't it be me?

Alexander's POV The colors drained from my face. Selene's mouth snapped open, like she had more to say but I clamped her lips shut. “ Let's go!” I said. I didn't wait for a response as I pulled her by the wrist, my grip was tight as i had enough of this. I was starting to think that these meetings weren't coincidental again. As we were close to the door, Jae called out with a snicker, “ Won't you check them?” I turned, shooting him a glare but he just held his chest as he said, “ Oh no, I'm so scared.” I let go of Selene's hands, straightening the suit that I was putting on. I had a cold look on my face, asking with a low rumble, “ I'm sure you don't know me.”“ Does that matter?” Jae asked with a light voice. He stepped forward, he wasn't stepping back as he turned to the attendant and said slowly, “ The lady here with him was making a fuss to distract everyone so she could put things in her purse.” Selene's face went ashy, she moved closer to my side as she shook her head r

My name is Xavier

Zara's POV“ Thank you for today.” I whispered to Jae. He didn't say anything, he just helped me into the passenger seat of the car as he said, “Rest, your dad said I had to bring you back safely.” I laughed softly because I knew that was something that my dad could say. I got into the car, lying back as I closed my eyes and felt the engines of the rev as we drove off. As I turned my head to the side, I caught the silhouette of Alexander. My heart thumped. ‘Why was he in town?’ I thought, I sat up abruptly as I said, “Is there any meeting for Alphas?” Jae turned to look as he shook his head and pushed me down too. “ Rest.” He pressed on. But I couldn't rest, my heart was slamming against my chest and my breath had grown uneven. Jae noticed. He turned on the radio, tuning as the sound of music filled the car and it helped. I drifted off to sleep. “ Ah!” I jerked awake. I was in Jae’s hands as he was carrying me into the house. My father was by his side, helping as he placed m

No, Thank you.

Zara's POVThe cameras clicked rapidly as I set my legs on the runway, Xavier arranged the dress behind me as he whispered in my ears,“ You are doing well.” I smiled, looking at him as the cameras clicked wildly again. The duo that were at front turned, looking at the two of us in surprise. They stopped. The smile didn't drop from our faces, our steps were neither fast nor slow as each step earned us a shriek from the people by the sidelines. “ Xavier looks more handsome than he did years ago but who is that by his side?” “ She's so beautiful! That dress is worth more than 2 million dollars.” They all cooed. My steps didn't falter as I passed the two people were too stunned to speak. As I walked into the hall, Kate walked over and embraced me with a huge smile in her eyes. “ You came!” She said in a cheerful voice. “Why wouldn't I? You invited me.” I said sweetly. I could see Selene from the corner of my eyes, she was coming here so I pulled Kate to the side as I shoved a p

Damn! what's wrong with me?

My jaw stiffened as I watched him take the hands of the woman that used to be mine. What the hell?!My mind is a market place and my heart is beating non stop. Can we talk?

Zara’s POV “ Is she alright?” Someone shrieked. The older guests rushed to her side, helping her up as the cream of the cake had smeared all over her face and her makeup was smudged. Some other guests couldn't hold back as they snickered openly at her, they couldn't hold back their laughter. A voice came through the crowd, “ The cake can't hide who she is now.” The crowd burst into laughter, even I had a smile on my face. I couldn't see her face properly but I could make out that her shoulders were quivering and her hands were shaking.Kate heard the commotion, she draws closer to them and there's an apologetic look on her face as she says to the crowd, “ I'm sorry for this distraction. The dance floor would be cleaned immediately.”With two smooth claps, the servants come out in a neat row as they approach the gloomy Selene. She was shaking all over now, she used her finger to wipe the cream so we could see her eyes. She glared furiously st me, then screamed at Kate, “How dare
