CHAPTER ONE: STUPID DECISIONS AND COLDER TRUTHS

KIARA'S POVI gripped the sheets so tight the moment he thrust deep into me.To hell with the moon goddess.“Arghh….” The sound escaped my lips before I could stop it.To hell with mate bonds and coven rules. I turned twenty-three today and still haven't gotten mated.I tried to keep clean….I really tried but not anymore. I was aware. That was the embarrassing part. Not fully drunk, maybe two drinks past sober, which was just enough to make a terrible decision feel like the most logical thing in the world. I knew exactly what I was doing. And I love it.The wet sound of kisses filled my ears but not on my lips, lol but my fucking lower lips.Argh…..he was so good. His cold lips on my neck and I forgot what spells were.Who the fuck was he? He didn't smell like a witch ... .or a wol ....” argh…. please.” I couldn't help but moan the moment his cold lips hit my nips.My magic. It was moving on its own.Reading him the way it did when I encountered something unfamiliar, tendrils of

CHAPTER TWO:FOUR FREAKING MONTHS

KIARA'S POVIf anyone had told me there would be a day I would run so hard for my life, from the place I call home I would have run a sharp blade through their gut.“Stop her..” I couldn't hear her voice from behind me, desperate and shameless. She fucking killed my mother. The sky began to darker and the sudden rain drop began with that infinite thunder that only Seraphine could cast still I hadn't reached the gate.Spells cracked through the air behind me bright and vicious, splitting the dark in blue and white bursts. One clipped the ground three inches from my left foot and I felt the heat of it through my bare sole.Keep moving. Keep moving. Keep….Flash.Smoke. Black and thick. Her voice is somewhere inside it.I blinked it away and kept running anyway, the ground was wet beneath my feet, grass giving way to mud giving way to stone, the terrain shifting faster than I could track it.Not until I was out and running through the wrong places….ciff. that was a cliff gated to nowh

CHAPTER THREE:LOOSE ENDS

KAEL'S POVNothing has felt more important to me than the event four months ago. The elder was still talking.I stopped listening approximately six minutes ago.Twelve seats. Twelve men. Eleven of them were sweating through expensive suits trying to convince me that their proposal was worth my time.If only they knew it wasn't. Elder Dorian had adjusted his collar three times in the last two minutes. Elder Voss hadn't looked up from the table once. Elder Crane kept glancing at the door like he was calculating an exit.Greedy, spineless, and collectively worth less than the chairs they're sitting in, I thought pleasantly. ‘But smart.’ "Alpha Mooncrest." Dorian again. The man had the persistence of a bad smell. "The eastern border expansion would double your…..""Yes."He blinked. "Yes, you agree or….""Continue."He continued. I went back to not listening. My mind did what it had been doing for four months without my permission. Dropped straight back to that night, the moment still

CHAPTER FOUR:CARRYING POWER,CARRYING WAR

KIARA’S POV Chloe, wait what do you mean ?…. What is the doctor trying to say?… I’m pregnant with twins? I mean how is a one night stand supposed to get me pregnant even after I used a protection spell on myself not to get pregnant and now I’m actually pregnant with not just one but two freaking babies.“Kiara you have to relax you just got out of coma and you panicking this way could send you back straight to coma …you have to relax we will figure this out”“Chloe you expect me to be calm I can only remember having a very hot sex with a guy I barely know and now I’m waking up in a freaking hospital and hearing I was in a coma and I’m also pregnant with twins ….i mean I’ve had countless sex with other guys but I haven’t gotten pregnant …so I mean how different is the guy that I got pregnant despite using the spell?”“Then maybe he isn’t just an ordinary human,You’ve clearly slept with a lot of guys to get over your ex this summer and haven’t gotten pregnant and now mr mystery guy

CHAPTER FIVE:BAIT FOR AN ALPHA

KIARA’S POVThis trip was never ending. It felt like we had been driving for days and I was getting really tired of it. One day was like the other. We would stop at gas stations, drive on highways and stay in motels that smelled like dust. All of this was for one person. Kael.We almost found Kael two days ago. We were so close I could almost feel it.. Then nothing. The trail just went cold like it never existed. Since then Kael had been moving all the time, slipping through towns like a ghost. This was driving me crazy. I slammed my fist into the wall of the diner bathroom. The crack was louder than I expected."Relax, " Chloe said from behind me, her voice calm as always. "We will find him. It is just taking longer than we thought."I turned around with my jaw tight. "Why is Kael so hard to find? What is he doing that makes him move to a place every day?"Chloe studied me carefully, her arms crossed. "Whoa, easy. You need to calm down. What is going on with you? You are more hosti

CHAPTER SIX:THE POWER WITHIN

KAEL’S POV After the meeting I had with the elders in the pack asking me to give them an heir that would pass the wolf legacy down I decided to leave the pack for some days to free my head. But still I couldn’t get her off my mind. It's been four months and just a one night stand. All I knew was that she’s a witch, I don’t know how I know that but I felt that she's different, not a wolf scent but a mixture of a human and a witch scent.“Why do I feel she’s nearby and in some kind of danger or am I just overthinking things?”“Alpha Kael”My head snapped up.One of my men stood at the door breathing like he had been running for ages.“We found him.”My body went still… “Who?”“Noah….He’s holding two girls captive.”My mind suddenly went to the witch I’ve been thinking about for months. Was this why I’ve been feeling she’s close by for days now ?“Gather the other men we are heading out immediately” I picked up my shirt and went out immediately.KIARA’S POV"What makes you think we are

CHAPTER SEVEN:BLACK VEINS

KIARA'S POVSince the coven tried to control me, I've been on watch day and night by both Kael and Chloe.Neither of them risked leaving me alone even for a second. I wasn't getting much sleep either, I knew that once I was unconscious I was easy to manipulate."You look really tired." Olivia …Kael’s mother said. I rested my head on the kitchen table."You have no idea. Can I have some coffee?"She raised her eyebrows at me."I don't think that's a good idea. Here, have some tea instead." I reluctantly took the cup of tea and drank."You should try getting some rest, I know you don't like it seeing what is happening when you sleep, but for the sake of those babies, you will need the sleep. Trust me, an alpha pregnancy is not as much of a picnic as it seems.""What do you mean?""No one has told you?""Told me what?" I asked interested in what she had to say."Darling, you're pregnant with the children of an Alpha, your pregnancy is not going to be normal. To begin, your body is evolvi

CHAPTER 8:DENIAL AND DARKNESS

Kael’s POVKiara was sleeping soundly in the hospital room. Her veins were still turning black, and keeping her asleep was the only way to slow down the process. I had every witch I knew working on finding a solution to this problem. Her friend Chloe was set on saving her. I sat up when I heard the rapid beeping of the machine. The doctors rushed in and told me to leave. I paced back and forth in the hall. Chloe came up to me."What happened?" She asked."She started coding, the doctors are in there now trying to stabilize her.""We have to figure out a way to save her from this. I know you probably do not care, but if she dies, so do their babies and they've done nothing wrong.""What gives you the impression that I don't care?""Other than the fact that a few weeks ago you told her you didn't want the babies? Oh, I don't know, maybe the way you treat her, and how you make her feel on a daily basis.""I have a pack to run, I can't just let anyone walk all over me and get away with i

CHAPTER 9:DREAMS OF DEATH

KIARA’S POVI heard the cry of a baby and I ran toward it.They got louder and louder as I got closer. The trees seemed to get denser and the sky darker it felt like I was running forever. I got to a clearing and saw two babies laid down on the forest floor crying. I tried to go to them, but I couldn't move. I felt all the bones in my body moving and breaking. I cried out in pain as each bone broke and snapped into a new shape. I felt the pain of the sharp fangs coming through my mouth. My eyes turned golden yellow. I was becoming a full wolf.Once all the pain was gone, I looked down and saw paws instead of my hands. I was now a wolf. I felt this insatiable hunger inside of me.When I looked up, I saw two children instead of babies, fear was in their eyes. I growled and they took careful steps back. I slowly moved towards them, they took off in a run and I chased after them. They were fast, but I was faster. I pounced on one of their backs and knocked them down. Their screams fil

CHAPTER 10:BURIED MEMORIES

KIARA’S POVIt's been a week with the coven, and I was starting to feel as if I made a mistake. I was locked away in a room and hadn't seen any other witch in days. I couldn't do any magic either. I looked out the window at the young witches practicing their magic. It was cute to see faces react every time they got a spell right. I heard a knock at the door and turned, It was Seraphine."Why am I locked away in this room? We made a deal Seraphine.""I know, and I intend to keep that deal. Now come there is someone I want you to meet." I followed behind her. She led me to another part of the sanctuary that I've never been in."Has this always been here?" I asked her nodded "How come I've never seen this part of the sanctuary before?""This part of the sanctuary is hidden by magic from all those unauthorized to come here. If you wouldn't have left when you did, you would have been invited here. It was where all advanced witches go once they are old enough." She explained."So it's wher
