Semua Bab The Dragon Emperor Found Me With a Cub: Bab 1 - Bab 10

My best friend, Sharon, called me the day before she left the country.I heard the frantic sound of packing on the other end of the line, mixed with her hurried voice. “Wynne! Help! I’m flying to New Zedland for work the day after tomorrow, and my husband’s not home either. Can you look after my nephew for a few days? It’ll be just one week! I’ll treat you to the most expensive sushi in town once I’m back!”She was married to a dragon shifter.Their family had many different branches, and a few years ago, they arranged for a little dragon cub to be raised in her home. She was the one taking care of him most of the time.I agreed without even thinking.Who could say no to a dragon cub?!However, Sharon then added, “Oh, right. I should warn you. This kid’s been spoiled at home, so his temper isn’t great. He can be a bit fierce sometimes, so don’t take it personally. He’s the type of guy who acts tough but is really soft-hearted underneath. Just coax him a little, and he’ll be fine.

After dinner, I tossed the dishes into the dishwasher. The little guy and I curled up on the sofa to watch cartoons. He sat at the far end, keeping a large distance between us. He hugged a pillow and stared at the TV with a blank expression.Still, I noticed something. Whenever I brought out a plate of fruit, he would quietly sneak a piece when I was not looking. After taking one, he would deliberately push the plate a little farther away, pretending nothing had happened.I was trying hard not to laugh the entire time.Sharon was right. He was tough on the outside but soft on the inside.Later that night, I asked, “Do you want me to help you with your bath?”His face turned bright red instantly. His voice even cracked. “No! I can do it myself!”He grabbed his clothes and rushed into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind him. From outside, I called, “Be careful not to slip! Did you set the water temperature warm enough? Do you want me to check—”“No!”All right. He cou

For a moment, I could not decide whether I should pretend to be asleep or dead. The cold wind howled through the massive hole overhead as I huddled under the blanket, shivering. My mind was still stuck on those floating comments. The Dragon Emperor! His younger brother! Married! The words kept bouncing around in my head, and even just one of those things was nearly enough to make me pass out on the spot. The little dragon hovered in midair. His golden scales gleamed in the morning light. His whiskers were puffed up indignantly, making him look like a tiny dragon fiercely guarding what was his.Meanwhile, the Dragon Emperor stood amid the rubble. His draconic aura was so overwhelming that I could barely breathe. His gaze shifted away from my ankle and landed on the little dragon. His voice was low. “Lucien, come home.”The little dragon did not budge. He remained firmly between us, his tail swishing back and forth. “No! Fix the hole first. Cold air is getting in, and she’s going

The days after that passed mostly normally, aside from the fact that there were now two bodyguards stationed downstairs.Lucien, the youngest brother of the Dragon Emperor, Aurelius, had lost his parents early on in life and was raised by his elder brother. However, the Dragon Emperor spent most of his time high above the heavens dealing with clan affairs, leaving him no choice but to rotate Lucien through various dragon branch families in the human world. Each household treated him politely, but politeness was all it was. There was no real closeness there.Kids were sensitive. He knew he was an outsider. Therefore, he became sharp-tempered, withdrawn, wrapping himself in spikes so anyone who got close would get hurt.Until one foolish human girl chased him down several streets and shoved a pair of gloves into his hands and told him, “Put them on. Be good.”I learned some of these things from those floating comments, while I figured out others myself. For instance, he never too

On the sixth day, the Dragon Emperor came again. This time, he used the front door, and he even knocked. That was progress. When I opened the door, a man was standing outside. His long golden hair was tied back, and a dark overcoat was draped over his frame. His presence felt more restrained than before, but that cold, imposing face still made me instinctively want to take a half step back.“Mr. Vale.”He nodded slightly, eyes already moving past me. “Where is Lucien?”“He’s watching TV.”He stepped inside.I followed behind him like a guilty student trailing after her homeroom teacher.Lucien was curled up on the sofa under a small blanket. The moment he saw his brother, his body tensed, but he did not run or hide. Instead, his tail quietly stretched toward me.Aurelius sat down opposite him, glancing at the blanket, the cookies in his hands, and the neatly-cut fruit on the table. After a brief silence, his tone was much calmer than before. “How have you been these past few
