Semua Bab My Obsessed Mafia Ex Wants Me Back: Bab 1 - Bab 10

Ariana It took me a few seconds, maybe longer than that to convince myself that I wasn't imagining things. That this wasn't some cruel trick my exhausted mind was playing on me.Because once upon a time, those same eyes used to look at me like I was something precious. Like I was the only person in the world that mattered. There used to be warmth in them. Life. A softness that made me feel safe whenever he looked my way.Now all I could see was darkness. Danger. And emptiness in a way that didn't feel human anymore.A shiver crawled down my spine. It made my skin tingle with a traitorous kind of heat, and I hated myself for it. Because that man—this man—was no longer the one I loved. No longer the boy I gave myself to on the night of our graduation. He was power wrapped in an expensive suit. Commanding. Cold. A stranger with familiar eyes.Damien stood slowly, the scrape of the leather chair behind him sounding louder than it should have in the suddenly quiet club. His gaze dragged o

Arianna"Sorry. You're no longer working with us."Those were the words that kept circling in my head. Within less than twenty-four hours, I had lost both jobs.First S&M Publishing House shutting down overnight after the fraud investigation. Then walking into the club and getting informed the boss from above gave orders to fire me.Surprisingly... I wasn't very much shocked after I found out Damien owned the club I worked at. A man like him owning places like that made perfect sense now.Still, one question kept burning through my head. Why? Did he really hate my existence that much?I leaned back against the chair tiredly, rubbing my eyes.Losing one job was painful enough. Losing two at once felt cruel. And the worst part was that I couldn't stop myself from thinking Damien had something to do with all of it. A warm cup suddenly appeared beside my laptop."Take a break, girl," Tessa said as she sat down next to me. "You've been job hunting for almost half the day."I shut the lapt

Damien"Listen carefully because I'm only saying this once." I said to the bastard making sure my voice was venomous enough to remind him who is the boss here. "I'll give you forty-eight hours." I said. "Forty-eight hours," I repeated. "If every cent isn't back where it belongs by then, you'll spend the rest of your life wishing prison was your punishment."Three million dollars had disappeared from company accounts under his supervision.Money meant for operations. Employees. Investments. And he thought he could disappear with it. Just because he was made manager in one of our branch jurisdictions. I already regretted not taking him out right from the start, holding on to the loyalty his father has for our company under my father. Only that he was nothing like his father. He was nothing a dumbass fool."You won't find me," he whispered suddenly. And that made me chuckle. "You still think this is a game.""When I find you—and I will find you—you'll beg me to kill you."With that I di

ArianaThe taxi pulled to a stop in front of the building. I stared through the window at the massive glass structure towering over the city skyline.Valmont Holdings.Even from outside, the place screamed power. Everything Damien represented. The driver glanced at me through the rearview mirror. "We're here."I swallowed. "Right."Digging out the fare, I paid him before stepping out onto the sidewalk. The moment the taxi drove away, I felt painfully exposed. Like there was no turning back now.People in expensive suits moved in and out through the revolving doors.People with places to be. People whose lives weren't currently falling apart. My fingers tightened around my purse. You are doing this for Tessa and Matt. The image of Tessa crying outside the operating room flashed before my eyes. This wasn't about my pride anymore. This was about saving someone who mattered to the people I loved. With that, I forced my feet forward. The revolving doors slid open. Cold air-conditioning gree

ArianaI took a deep breath as the elevator climbed higher and higher. By the time the doors finally slid open, I was pretty sure no amount of breathing exercises would save me. "You can do this."Today was only my second time stepping into Valmont Holdings. Yet somehow it felt like the first. The first time I had walked through these doors, I had been nervous. Now? I was downright terrified.I had assured Tessa last night that I wouldn't let him get to me. That I was stronger now. That I could handle whatever game he was trying to play. The problem was...I wasn't entirely sure I believed myself. I adjusted the strap of my bag and stepped out of the elevator.Whatever scheme Damien had planned, I would deal with it. Head-on. Just like everything else life had thrown at me. The hallway stretched ahead of me.Standing outside Damien's office was the same man from last time. The tattooed one. The one who looked like smiling violated his personal beliefs. He was standing with his hands
