I couldn't help but chuckle.Cassidy dragged Austin toward the carousel like she had forgotten all about the rollercoaster tears. Her little legs moved fast and Austin let her pull him, laughing softly. I followed behind watching them. The colorful lights on the ride blinked bright and happy music played.Cassidy picked a white horse with pink flowers on it. She climbed up and waved at us. "Come on!"Austin got on the horse next to hers and I took the one beside him. The carousel started slow, turning round and round. Wind brushed my face again, gentle this time. Cassidy giggled every time her horse went up and down. "Look at me, Mum! I'm a princess!" she shouted. Her smile was so big it made my heart feel full.Austin glanced at her and smiled too. For a minute, it felt like we were just a normal family having fun, but if only Sloane was here, it would have been better.I reached out and touched Cassidy's back when her horse came close. She looked at me with bright eyes. "This is bet

"You need goddamn help."How could she try to kill her own child with abortion pills because the man said he didn’t want her because she got pregnant? She called it the biggest mistake of her life and that she did regret having Cassidy. The words made my stomach turn; it sounded fvcking disgusting."What kind of mother would say that about their child?" I asked in rage, and she laughed."Me! I am that kind of mother..." she added and glared at me."You know what, I should get rid of you right fvcking now. I need to take over my place," she yelled. Her face twisted with disgust, and she rushed forward, trying to scratch my face with her nails, but I stepped back just in time, my heart pounding hard."Stop it," I hissed. "You’re going to ruin everything.""I'm going to ruin you, not everything," she replied and headbutted me. I staggered back a little, then I heard it.Cassidy’s voice calling my name from somewhere close. "Mum!"Her voice grew closer; she was stepping nearer to the dark

"Aren't you gay?" I snapped, and he froze."Gay? Do I fucking look gay?" he snapped, and I looked away."Who knows? I can't even remember that night," I mumbled, but shut my lips, and he raised a brow."Then I will make you remember," he mumbled."What did you say?" I snapped, and his gaze locked onto mine."Hmm."He didn't continue, and I sucked down on my bottom lip...I just stayed there quietly, but Vincent's gaze was still focused on me."What do you want?" I snapped, and he raised a brow."Hmm?" he said, and a sigh escaped from my lips."Why do you keep staring at me?" I said, and a smile curled on his lips. It made my heart skip a beat, and I looked away immediately, coughing uncontrollably."How did you know I was also staring?" he asked, and my heart immediately began to beat fast! I was also staring at him, because who the hell did I think he was?"Oh, we have arrived," I said, pointing ahead. He didn't add any more words and just looked ahead...As the car stopped, I froze,

"Your pass," the bodyguard asked, and Mina stopped in her tracks. She clenched her jaw and immediately reached for her bag, pulling out the golden card.Staring at it, the bodyguard bowed down instantly. "Forgive me for my insolence; I didn't know you wer—""Shhhhh," she said, and lifted her gaze, glaring coldly at him."It's settled for now, but do not try this later," she said coldly and walked on, stepping into the dim underground site without flinching.Thick cigarette smoke mixed with the metallic smell of blood hung heavy in the air. She should have been scared; instead, she inhaled it and a smile curled to her lips."Nothing beats home," she mumbled under her breath, stepping forward while broken glass crunched under her heels, swaying her hips. When the receptionist sighted her, she immediately left her desk and rushed to her."What brings Madam here?" she asked, and Mina stopped in her tracks; she glared at the female."So, can I come uninvited?" she asked coldly, and the rec

I drove away from the scene slowly, a satisfied smile still playing on my lips. The road blurred a bit as I replayed everything in my head. Weeks ago, I had called a hacker and told him to dig into the restaurant footage from that night I supposedly died. The very footage that would allow me to ruin Christian and finish him off.My phone buzzed with a message; he had the footage and had placed it on a USB drive. I turned the car toward the address he sent.I stopped my car upon arriving. The place was a simple garage tucked in a quiet neighborhood, with tools scattered everywhere. A young guy, barely out of his teens, sat next to a laptop. He looked up when I walked in.“Miss Mia!” he said, and I nodded. He didn’t waste time; he turned the screen toward me and pressed play. The footage rolled, playing everything from that night. I couldn’t help but grin, wide with anger and delight. It was... perfect, clear as day."The drive," I asked, stretching out my hand. He unplugged it and plac
