"If I have to stare at one more financial report today, I am going to throw myself out of a window," Kany muttered, stepping out of the chilly afternoon wind and into the warm, quiet coffee shop near Luxore. She walked straight toward the counter, her eyes fixed on the overhead menu. But as she turned the corner near the pastry display, she slammed directly into a broad, solid chest. "Whoa, watch it!" Kany gasped, stumbling back on her heels. A pair of strong, steady hands instantly caught her by the elbows, steadying her. Kany looked up, ready to snap, but the words died in her throat. Standing over her in a dark tactical jacket was Bruce. "Easy there," Bruce said softly, his deep voice calm and grounding.
