Chapter 111: Two Divorces, One Future

I stood in front of the mirror, staring at the ring on my finger. I was engaged to Marcus. Not secretly. Not as someone else’s wife. Not as a woman waiting for her life to change. I was free. Marcus had finalized his divorce too. After everything we had been through, both of us were finally out of marriages that had stopped being healthy. My phone rang. “Hello?” “Are you ready?” I smiled the moment I heard Marcus’s voice. “Ready for what?” “To see me.” “I missed you.” I looked at my ring again. “I missed you too.” “Then come over.” “I’ll be there soon.” When I arrived, Marcus was waiting outside. The moment I stepped out of the car, he walked toward me. Neither of us spoke. He simply pulled me into his arms. I held him tightly, closing my eyes. “We actually did it,” he whispered. I smiled against his chest. “I know.” He pulled back and looked at me. “Two divorces.” I laughed. “That sounds terrible when you say it like that.” “It does.” “But we’re finally free.” His e

Chapter 112: The Wedding

The next morning. I woke up before my alarm. I stared at the ceiling, remembering what day it was. My wedding day. I smiled. After everything I had been through, I was actually getting married again. But this time, I wasn’t walking toward a man because I was afraid of being alone. I wasn’t trying to prove anything. I was choosing Marcus. A soft knock came at the door. “Bella? Are you awake?” It was my sister. “I am.” She opened the door and smiled. “Good. Because you have about a hundred things to do.” I laughed. “A hundred?” “Maybe ninety.” She walked in and pulled the curtains open. Sunlight filled the room. My wedding dress was hanging beside the wardrobe. I had chosen something simple and beautiful. Looking at it made everything feel real. My sister stood beside me. “Nervous?” “A little.” She raised an eyebrow. “Okay. A lot.” She laughed. “That’s normal.” I touched the dress carefully. “Do you ever think about everything that happened before this?” “All the time.”

Chapter 113: The Woman I Became

A few weeks after the wedding, I woke up smiling before I even opened my eyes. I turned toward Marcus. He was still asleep. I watched him for a moment, remembering how impossible this life had once seemed. My life had changed. But the biggest change wasn’t my wedding ring. It was me. I got out of bed and walked toward the mirror. My body was fitter now. My clothes fit differently, and I felt stronger than I had before. But when I looked at myself, I didn’t focus on my weight anymore. I looked at my eyes. They were different. There was confidence there. For years, I had measured myself through other people’s opinions. Ryan’s words had made me believe that being loved meant becoming the woman he wanted. I had spent too much time trying to earn approval. Now, I didn’t need it. I touched my wedding ring and smiled. “You’re awake.” I turned. Marcus stood at the bedroom door, rubbing his eyes. “I’ve been awake for a while.” “What are you thinking about?” “Everything.” He looked at
