Izzy “What is your problem?” I said pushing past him into the room. “One night of whatever that was and now you are back to being a jerk who ghosts. You cannot do that to me.”He closed the door and leaned against it with his arms crossed. “I am not ghosting. I am giving you what you asked for. Space. You said this changes nothing remember.” His eyes stayed on mine but I caught how they flicked down to my chest for a split second.I laughed but it came out sharp. “Space. Right. Because that is totally you. Mr territorial who said no one else gets to touch me. And now you are all distant like I am the one who started this. News flash you did with that video and everything.”Riven ran a hand through his hair and his jaw clenched again. “Maybe I should not have. Last night we almost got busted. If they found out it would be bad for you. You are the one always going on about how wrong this is because we are stepsiblings.”I stepped closer and poked his chest. “Do not turn this around on

Izzy I sat there at the table with the girls, the bar noise buzzing around us while Vesper’s words kept replaying in my head. One of Riven’s teammates is gay and she had proof. Pictures, messages, the whole thing. I could use that. I could throw it in his face and make him admit he still wanted me instead of acting like a distant asshole. Or I could blackmail him into stopping the hot and cold game. But then what kind of person did that make me. I stared at my drink and turned the glass in my hands. Maybe I should just rise above it and not sink to his level. The thought made my stomach twist because rising above sounded weak right now.“You okay over there?” Callie asked, nudging my arm. She had that look like she could read every messy thought crossing my face.I let out a breath and nodded. “Yeah. Just thinking about whether I should actually use that stuff Vesper dropped. Part of me wants to watch him squirm. The other part says do not be that girl.”Larkin snorted and leaned bac

VesperI watched Silas slip out the side door right after the game ended. He had pulled on that dark hoodie over his suit jacket like he was trying to disappear. My stomach twisted tight. He skipped press again and now he moved fast through the hotel like he had somewhere to be that nobody should see. I grabbed my bag and followed him. I stayed back far enough that he would not spot me. My heels were quiet on the carpet. He did not look back once. I had no idea what he was up to but something felt wrong after the way he played tonight. I needed to know.He headed toward the quieter part of the hotel where the bar sat tucked away from the main lobby. I kept sneaking behind corners and watching. My heart beat faster with every step. He finally ducked into the bar area and dropped into a corner booth. I waited a few seconds then walked over like I had just found him. My blood was boiling by then.“Silas you skipped press again. We have talked about this so many times. What the hell is

Vesper “Good.” He kissed me again, deeper, slower this time, like he was savoring the surrender. My blouse buttons gave way under his fingers. The fabric slid off my shoulders and pooled on the floor. His hoodie followed, then his shirt, revealing the hard planes of muscle marked with old bruises from the ice.We moved toward the bed in a clumsy tangle. I pushed him down first, straddling his lap. He groaned as I ground against him, hands gripping my thighs. “Fuck, you feel good.”I rocked against the hard ridge in his pants, chasing friction. “This doesn’t change anything,” I whispered, even as I reached between us to work his belt open. “Tomorrow I still have to manage your mess.”“Tomorrow can wait.” He flipped us suddenly, pinning me beneath him. The move was smooth, powerful hockey player strength on full display. He peeled my skirt and panties down my legs, leaving me bare. His gaze raked over me, hungry. “Look at you. So damn perfect. And all mine tonight.”I should have argue

Vesper I yanked the door open so hard it slammed against the wall behind me. My skirt was still twisted from how fast I had pulled it on and my blouse was half buttoned like I did not even care anymore. I did not look back at Silas. I just stormed out into the hallway with my shoes in one hand and my heart banging loud in my ears like it wanted to jump out of my chest. The carpet felt rough under my bare feet as I walked fast down the hall. I kept breathing heavy trying to put distance between me and that hotel room. Halfway down the hallway my legs started shaking for real. Not the good kind from last night. This was pure anger and regret mixed together in a way that made my stomach turn. The text on his phone kept flashing in my head. That fiancée counting down to the weekend. Me naked under his sheets just hours earlier. How stupid could I be.“Shit shit shit,” I muttered to myself. My phone. I left my damn phone on the nightstand next to his. And one shoe was missing too. I stop
