DAMIEN’S POV “If Maya were still with us, she would have been the one to participate in the bloodsucking ritual,” I said to Kendra. “I miss using her as a spy,” she responded after handing me a glass of wine. Sometimes, I wish we still had her around. Aside from her warming my bed every night, she was a very good spy. She wasn’t caught spying, not even for once. MAYA’S POV “Can I have a word with you?” I asked Beta Kierra after walking up to her. I could have waited for her to be done on the training ground before walking up to her, but I didn’t think it was necessary. I woke up some minutes ago, and the minute I did, I just knew I had to have a word with Beta Kierra. She didn’t drop her sword, and it meant that she hadn’t given me an audience yet. MAYA’S POV “Is there a problem?” Lycan Rasmus asked in a loud tone. I paused after he spoke. Before he did, I had been pacing the entire house. I entered the kitchen and came out, I ascended and descended the stairs, and I also paced the dining area that was close to the living room where he was. I saw him seated on the throne in the living room while I did all of that, but I didn’t know he had been noticing me. RASMUS’S POV I had a really long day, all thanks to the pack’s investors. Maya was seated in the living room. I knew because her scent filled my nostrils after I stepped inside. I had planned to go straight into my room, but I changed my mind. “Maya,” I cooed. She was carried away by the movie she was watching. I had to call her name to let her know that I was here now. I walked down the hallway quietly and carefully with my heels raised and my weight on the balls of my feet. If I didn’t have somewhere important to be, I would have remained in my room. Today made it the fourth day of me not skipping training in the morning. I was determined to help my wolf break forth.
