Rodney. It was such a relief when the battle ended. Crescent Pack was quiet again. Elders sat together beneath the old oak tree, thanking the Moon Goddess for protecting the pack while everyone else had gone back to their normal activities. We had won, and it was all thanks to Evie. If she had not used her Fireheart powers to save everyone, I didn’t know what would have happened to the pack. The attack was a surprise, and the attackers were strong and coordinated. Whoever had planned it was mighty. At first, I suspected Lucien but then remembered that Lucien adored Evie. He may have been a moron, but I couldn’t imagine him attacking us. Lucien and I had issues, but it was more like a ‘frenemies’ situation, at least that’s what I thought on my side.Evie was now the star of the show. Wherever she walked, wolves stopped to thank her. The mothers whose children she rescued embraced her with tears in their eyes. The warriors she healed bowed respectfully whenever she passed. Even the eld

Evie. Wolves filled the yard on the morning we left Crescent Pack. The Warriors stood in neat rows, with their gleaming polished armors. The pack women spoke to me and wished me well while servants loaded supplies onto the cars. Everyone was there to see their Alpha and Luna who were traveling to the Alpha Summit. I still wasn’t used to hearing people call me Luna but was slowly getting used to it. Children waved excitedly as Tommy climbed into the car. We decided to travel with him since all the strong people we trusted were going with us. I couldn’t leave him alone while the person who was causing problems for us was still at large. “Mommy!” he called out. “Can I go with Daddy?” Rodney looked at me first. It was such a small thing that he could have decided for himself but he chose to ask me as well. I nodded. Tommy squealed happily and scrambled into Rodney’s lap. “I get both of you!” he declared. Damien rolled his eyes as he got into another car. “I already miss the

Evie. Magnus had to be the most intimidating alpha I had ever met. He didn’t have to raise his voice or fist. He just had the confidence of a man who knew no one in the room could challenge him. After formally welcoming every Alpha, attendants opened the banquet hall. Music filled the room as servants carried out delicious dishes. Rodney remained beside me almost the entire time. Eventually, Damien pulled him away after several neighboring Alphas requested a private discussion about border security. “I’ll only be a few minutes,” Rodney murmured to me. “I’ll be okay. I don’t need a baby sitter.” His eyes lingered on Magnus across the room before he left. As soon as Rodney disappeared, Magnus rose and came to where I was. “May I?” he asked, gesturing toward the empty chair beside me. His manners caught me off guard. I mean he was the most powerful person in that place. He could do whatever he wanted without asking. “You don’t need my permission.” I said, studying the fabric use

Evie. The ballroom looked like a battlefield. There was broken marble, splintered tables, and pools of blood everywhere. Healers moved from one injured Alpha to another while servants quietly cleaned the wreckage left behind by the assassins. No one spoke above a whisper. The attack had changed everything for me because everyone who had witnessed my flames now knew the Fireheart was real. They also knew that I had gained some hold over my powers and could use them if I needed to. I hoped that would deter them from making any stupid moves on me or my family. Whoever had sent the assassins was a bold person. I didn’t know if we were completely safe from that one but there was not much I could do other than watch over my loved ones. The emergency council gathered immediately. Every Alpha sat around an enormous circular stone table inside the oldest chamber of the summit palace. The ancient room had wolf carvings on every wall and massive stone statues.Rodney sat beside me. His hand re

Rodney. The poison had stopped my heart. I remembered the cold as I was about to die. There was a deep, unending darkness, as if I was falling into some sort of abyss. I was feeling so cold and then suddenly began to feel warm. Evie’s warmth swirled around my body.Even now, hours later, I could still feel traces of her warmth lingering inside my chest, slowly burning away the remnants of the poison. It felt good to have a piece of her inside me. The curse had not acted up in a while so Evie hadn’t touched me and I’d started missing it.Joshua insisted I remain in bed but I ignored his advice. “The summit isn’t over,” I said while fastening the zip of my jacket. I was not going to spend my day lying in bed while other alphas ogled my wife and tried to flirt with her at every turn. No wonder someone had tried to poison me. maybe it was one of the alphas in the summit. I felt horrified when I realized it could even be Magnus himself.“You were clinically dead for almost half a minute,”
