Tori's POV I was livid with anger, my heart heaving as I tried to throw on a few clothes. He couldn't do this. He wouldn't do this — not after taking away everything I had. He wouldn't take away the money too. The whole house was silent as I went downstairs, careful not to wake anyone. I wondered if perhaps I'd get in trouble with Alpha Adrian for leaving so late. My hands shook as I waited for the taxi I had called earlier. He knew this would get to me; he knew this would make me want to see him. That was why he had texted me the address of a cheap restaurant and told me to meet him immediately. I felt the urge to throw up again but resisted, managing to sit through the car ride until I finally arrived at the spot he had asked me to meet. “You look good. I see the Alpha is taking care of his new slut very well,” a voice said from behind me as I sat there, impatiently drumming my fingers on the table. I turned quickly to face his scowling face. “Is that what that loose

Tori's POV It seemed as though the only thing Kylian and I needed for our bond to finally click was that meeting at his school. I took him to the park the next day, and there I began to discover new traits about him I hadn’t known existed. He was a jovial, lively child who enjoyed playing in the sand. His tough façade was just a way to keep out the people he felt insecure about. For the first few weeks, I was sure that things were perfect—just how they were. Alpha Adrian stayed away from me and would not talk to me unless it involved Kylian, and I was grateful. The last thing I wanted was another man in my life who would make me fall in love with him, only to leave at the slightest whim. When I arrived with Kylian from school that evening and was met by a foreign woman, I paused, contemplating my next move. In those two seconds I spent staring at her, a billion thoughts raced through my mind. Perhaps she was one of Alpha Adrian's exes. Or maybe she was Kylian’s mother, b

Tori’s POV The words died in my throat as I looked at his shirtless chest, wondering just how he had taken his shirt off so fast. Those abs — perfectly sculpted, as though they belonged to Adonis. I could almost feel how rock-hard they would be, the temptation of running my hands along the lines of his veins proving too strong to resist. My gaze traced upward — from his sculpted abs, to his beautiful neck, then to his chiseled jaw, and finally his face. That face was now set in a scowl as he looked at me. “Looking for something, or did you just want to stare?” he asked. My mouth suddenly felt dry as I cleared my throat. I hated this feeling — the way he made me feel like a teenage girl giggling at her first crush. “No, I’m sorry... I, um... I wanted to... I wanted to ask if you were being serious?” I said, finally managing to get the words out after what felt like an internal struggle. He raised his brows at me. “Did I say anything that suggested — or made you think

Tori’s POV I felt my throat go numb as I looked at him, wondering if this was a joke or if he was testing me, perhaps to see my reaction. “I take it that it’s not that serious?” he said again, and that was when I knew he was being serious. “I don’t want anything to do with them again,” I muttered, my voice small. He probably thought I was weak, perhaps wondering why I didn’t want to reclaim something that was rightfully mine, but I knew I couldn’t do it again. I couldn’t face her and pretend I was fine. I couldn’t stand anywhere near all of them. I was better off this way. The next store we walked into was more reserved than the first. The excitement of going on a shopping spree had faded, and even though I tried to look enthusiastic, all I really wanted was to go into my room, curl up into a ball, and cry. “We have new arrivals for the miss. What are you looking for in particular?” the woman asked when we arrived. “Dinner gowns. The finest you have,” Alpha Adria

Tori's POV The fact that he was staring at me with eyes wide open made me know he had the same thought in his mind as me. It was the first time I saw a remote emotion from him that was not anger or boredom. “I did not come all this way for this. Get me another room right this instant,” he said. Like all rich men, he had a fragile ego, and I could tell his ego was badly hurt right now as he looked at the woman who seemed not to care about his yelling. “I would advise you to keep calm, sir, as this is a business area. I apologize deeply for the inconvenience. I would have contacted nearby hotels for you, but hotels here don’t accept bookings from other hotels when it’s past seven. Please bear with us for at least this night, and I can promise you that I will have another room ready for you tomorrow morning,” she said. He wanted to talk, perhaps to argue again, but I hated the attention he was beginning to draw to us. For the first time, I decided to try my best to calm him
