THE next morning, Yna woke up to the wonderful smell of breakfast —Alas was already up and preparing their meal. “Smells amazing,” she said, getting up to wash her face. He took better care of her than her own husband ever could, she thought fondly. “Is it ready yet, Alas? My baby and I are starving,” she teased. “Just in time, Maria. You woke up perfectly,” he said, turning to face her—shirtless, wearing only his apron. “It smells wonderful,” she murmured. “Which part? The food… or my abs?” he grinned, catching her staring. Yna choked on air, flustered. “W-what are you talking about? The food, of course! I’m hungry, remember?” Her face felt like it was on fire. “Alright, alright.
