THEODORE greeted him with a wide, satisfied smile as he stepped into the room. “Excellent work,” he said, clapping him on the shoulder. “It seems our plans have finally borne fruit. We’ve succeeded so far, haven’t we, son?” He handed Janus a glass filled to the brim with rich, dark liquor. Janus took it without a word—he knew better than to refuse.
