Caroline's POVI led Tyrone into the kitchen. He followed attentively, and I swear I could smell his cologne from where I was. Peter stood near the island, arms crossed tightly over his chest. He looked like a red tomato. Good. I was just getting started.Cerene hovered close beside him, her eyes narrowing the moment we entered. She thought a few hickeys can break me? Losing my child killed every ounce of care I had for her.I stepped closer to Tyrone on purpose. He stiffened for a second before walking closer. Like he was trying to protect me from the world. My shoulder brushed against his arm as I pointed upstairs. “You’ll have a room next to mine,” I said softly, letting my voice drop a little. I turned my body toward him, tilting my head slightly so my hair fell over one shoulder. “I expect you to stay very close at all times. Twenty-four seven.”Tyrone moved closer deliberately. “Yes, Ms." His deep voice sent shivers down my spine.“If you need anything, don't fail to let me

Caroline's POVI was in front of the mirror in my room, carefully applying makeup. I had not used it in a long time. The brush moved slowly across my eyelids as I prepared for lunch with Alex. Tyrone stood still by the door, arms crossed, guarding quietly.A loud bang came from the backyard. I jumped slightly, the brush pausing mid-air. “What could that be?" I thought. Another bottle broke, the sound sharp and clear.I put the makeup down quickly and rushed toward the door. “Tyrone, follow me,” I said.He nodded once and walked right behind me as we headed downstairs and out to the backyard. The sun was high, barely past noon. Peter was there, visibly drunk. He swayed on his feet near a broken bottle on the ground. Another empty whiskey bottle lay beside him.My eyes widened in shock. “What the fuck?! Peter it’s barely 12 in the afternoon and you’re drunk?!” The words almost came out fully, but I stopped myself. I surprised myself by how fast I controlled my emotions.“Before I wou

Caroline's POVPeter stood up slowly from the outdoor chair. His movements were deliberate, almost lazy, as if he wanted me to watch every second. He reached out and pulled Cerene by the waist, yanking her body flush against his. Then he kissed her deeply right there in front of me. His hand gripped her lower back, holding her in place while she melted into him. When he finally pulled away, he looked straight at me with a smirk. “I am a man, it’s in our nature… I hope you ain’t jealous.”Cerene giggled softly and blushed, acting surprised even though her body pressed closer to his. One of her hands rested on his chest, fingers tracing lightly over his shirt. “Peter…” she whispered, clearly pleased.I stared at him like he was nothing but a piece of shit on the ground. My face stayed completely neutral. I refused to give him the reaction he wanted. “Tyrone, let’s go…” My legs started moving before I could stop them. I walked past Peter without even glancing at him, treating him like

Cerene's POVI paced back and forth in the guest room, my bare feet pressing hard into the soft carpet with every step. The luxurious black car that had taken Caroline away was still burned into my mind. “Who would send her such luxurious cars?” I groaned in anger, my voice echoing slightly off the walls. I stopped near the window and slammed my palm against the glass. The sound was sharp, but it didn’t make me feel any better.Peter had completely lost it earlier. He stormed out of the house after Caroline left, saying something about handling business. I honestly didn’t care where he went. Right now, all I could think about was her. Always her.I dug my nails into my palm, feeling the sharp sting as they pressed deeper. The pain helped me focus. “How come she always gets good things?!” I hissed to myself, pacing faster now. My short dress rode up with each angry step, but I didn’t bother fixing it. “Even that sexy bodyguard… God knows how she is able to afford him. Or who the he

Cerene's POVPeter stepped out of his car and closed the door with a heavy thud. He looked tired and frustrated, his shoulders tense. I stood near the front door, still wearing the wig and acting exactly like Caroline would...so calm and composed, with just a hint of that cold edge she had been showing lately.“Peter,” I said softly, tilting my head slightly. “You’re back.”He walked toward me, eyes scanning my face. For a second I thought he might notice something was off, but he just sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah. Where have you been? I came back and the house was empty.”I smiled gently, the same way I had seen Caroline do when she was trying to look unbothered. “Just needed some air. You know how it is after everything that happened earlier.” I stepped closer and touched his arm lightly. “You look stressed. Come inside. I’ll make you something to drink.”Peter nodded, but his eyes were still sharp. He followed me into the house. I kept my movements graceful, just
