Cerene's POV I moved closer to Peter on the couch. I placed my hand on his thigh, sliding it slowly upward. My fingers pressed gently against the fabric of his pants, feeling the muscle underneath. “Peter,” I whispered, leaning in so my breath brushed against his ear. “You’ve been so tense all day. Let me help you relax.” I kissed the side of his neck lightly, then moved my lips higher, trailing soft kisses along his jaw. He didn’t pull away immediately, but his body stayed stiff. His hand rested on my waist, but there was no grip, no pull or hunger. I shifted onto his lap, straddling him. My short dress rode up my thighs as I pressed my body against his. I took his hand and placed it on my hip, guiding his fingers under the hem of my dress. “Touch me,” I said softly, rocking my hips slowly against him. “I’ve missed you. I know you’ve missed this too.” Peter’s hand stayed on my hip for a few seconds. Then he sighed and moved it away. He gently pushed me back, lifting me off

Caroline's POV“Is there anything else you would like to ask me right now?” I repeated, keeping my voice steady. The older man in the sharp suit did not sit down. Instead, another board member near the end of the long oak table cleared his throat and leaned forward. The conference room was large, with high ceilings and dark wood paneling that made every sound echo. Heavy curtains framed the tall windows, and the polished floor reflected the light from the crystal chandelier above us.“How stable is your marriage, Mrs lockwood?” the man asked. His tone was polite on the surface but sharp underneath. “From those photos, it seems you are quite... free. Some of us are concerned that a person this unstable cannot lead a company of this size. Because Ms Harrington built a fortress that should be protected not wrecked.”I kept my hands flat on the table in front of me. I refused to look away. “My personal life does not affect my ability to make sound business decisions. The numbers I presen

Caroline's POV“I need to see Margaret before we go home,” I said. My voice came out quieter than I intended. “The way she sounded on the phone earlier… something is wrong. I can feel it.”Tyrone looked at me from across the car and nodded once. “Alright. I’ll tell the driver to change direction.”He leaned forward and spoke to the driver in a low voice. The car turned at the next intersection and headed toward the Harrington mansion instead of the airport. I sat back and stared out the window. My hands stayed tightly clasped in my lap. The earlier tension from the meeting and the almost-kiss still lingered, but a heavier worry had taken its place. The mansion gates opened slowly when we arrived. The long driveway looked the same as always, but the air felt different the moment we stepped out of the car. Two guards stood near the entrance. Their usual firm expressions were gone. Both of them lowered their eyes when they saw me. One of them gave a short, silent nod. Neither smiled.

Caroline's POV“I’m fine,” I said, still holding my cheek. My voice came out steady, but it felt thin.Tyrone did not look convinced. He stepped closer until there was almost no space left between us. His voice dropped low, quiet and serious. “Don’t lie to me… are you alright?”Something in the way he said it broke the last bit of control I had been holding. I moved without thinking. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around him, pressing my face against his chest. The tears came fast and hard. My shoulders shook as I held onto him.“He’s such a jerk,” I cried, the words muffled against his shirt. “He always finds a way to hurt me. I try to stay strong, but it never stops.”Tyrone’s arms came around me slowly. He did not speak. He just held me while I cried.I kept talking through the tears. “I still have feelings for him. That’s the worst part. Even after everything… the cheating, the insults, the way he treats me… I still feel something. I feel trapped in my own emotions. I hate

Caroline walked up the stairs first. Tyrone followed close behind her. Neither of them spoke. The hallway was quiet. When they reached the master bedroom, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. Tyrone closed it behind them with a soft click. She turned to face him. For a moment they simply looked at each other. Then she reached for the zipper of her dress and pulled it down slowly. The fabric slid off her shoulders and fell to the floor. She stood in front of him in only her underwear.Tyrone’s eyes moved over her body without rushing. He stepped closer and placed his hands on her waist. His palms were warm. He leaned down and kissed her again, slower this time. The kiss was deep but controlled. His tongue moved against hers with steady pressure.Caroline’s hands went to his belt. She unbuckled it carefully, then opened his pants and pushed them down. He stepped out of them without breaking the kiss. Her fingers traced the hard length of him through his underwear. He was thic
