BELLYI'd expected a reaction from Annalise and Kage, but what I didn't expect was for me to get a call at eleven p.m. from the security guards at the gates telling me Annalise Birkhead was here to see me.I'd been surprised and a bit confused, to be honest, but after some consideration, I instructed them to let her in and have someone direct her to my own part of the house.I'd thought of informing Donna but quickly decided against it. It was high time I stopped bothering the woman too much.Dressed casually in black pants and a singlet, I made my way downstairs to the living room. And while waiting for my guest, I decided to prepare a bottle of wine. I was filling the glasses when a memory from years back hit me.Back when the witch and I were still in the foster home, she had encouraged me to take something that belonged to our foster mother. I was aware our foster mother had instructed us not to touch that bottle of wine as it was the last one remaining and was meant for a gue

BELLYI dabbed my lips one final time in the mirror, smiled and reached for my purse. I had a busy day ahead.Fortunately, Donna was going to the company with me. It was my first day; she needed to be there to coach me."So, are you still going ahead with your Annalise plan today?" she asked in the backseat, causing me to look up from my phone.I looked at her and found that wicked little smile on her face. It dragged something similar up my lips."Of course. It's the highlight of my day.""Oh, she's going to be so pissed. I hope I'm there when she comes." She sniggered.I was about to say something when that familiar sensation hit me. It attacked its usual spot; my lower belly, burning hot and crushing down all at once.My teeth bit into my lower lip as I struggled to hold back the moan, not wanting to draw the attention of the driver in front. Although I was sure he couldn't hear me, since a soundproof partition separated us.Shit."Belly!" Donna held me. "Good Moon! Is there so

BELLY"Here you go," Donna said, handing the envelope to me.My eyes lit up at once. Thoughts of my favorite coffee I was just about to request escaped my mind, nothing else mattering but the small envelope in my hand.Nervously, I stood up, went over and made sure the door was locked, then returned to my seat and tore open the envelope. The photograph came into view, and just like that, my heart changed rhythm."Oh..." I moaned, falling back in my seat, both hands holding the photograph like it was something delicate.Because it was."My baby." I ran my fingers over it. "She looks so beautiful."Tears touched my cheeks. Gods, it was the second time I was seeing her in three years! She was just a year old when I was taken to the psych facility, so I didn't have the privilege of watching her grow. And while I could easily get pictures of Kage and watch him on TV, Michelle, however, remained almost impossible to see. She didn't appear on TV, of course, and Dr. Cruz wouldn't get me p

BELLYSara made a happy throaty sound, seeming pleased with my response."I'd be delighted to see you out," she said.Finn only spared her a glance before his attention was back on me. "I don't think that'll do, Ms. Isabelle. He's already waiting and can't be left disappointed. Actually, he insists the meeting takes place tonight.""So, what? Are you going to drag her out or something?" Sara huffed. "We've got security here, just so you know.""Violence is the last thing we'd resort to," Finn said. "The Alpha has...better ways of making people compliant."That came off as a threat even if he made it sound less like it.I narrowed my eyes. "Are you threatening me, Beta Finn?""The Moon forbid I do that. I'm merely stating facts. Although... I'd love to chip in the fact that while the Alpha might not own this company, the company resides on one of his many territories."My hands fisted beside me. Though I couldn't even say I was surprised. It had always been in Kage's reputation to

I returned my attention to the files, trying to focus."Kage, you won't believe it. That proud thing, Isabelle, dared reject my request for supplies from Voss Aegis. Can you believe that!?"That gripped my attention. "Why would she do that?""Well, I don't know! I don't know what the hell her problem is! I haven't done anything to her!"She was panting. "It doesn't make any sense. Why would she reject me? We were supposed to be sisters!"I began sorting through the files with a little too much force. I should have been concerned about her report, but a different voice echoed in my head.'You didn't love my sister.'I needed to focus. Fuck, I'd never needed to focus so badly in my life. But what was I supposed to focus on? The reports in front of me? Annalise nagging nonstop? Or the voices in my head?"Kage!" The voice sounded distorted. "Kage! Can you hear me?"I snapped back to the present. It took me a while to remember what was going on.Annalise stood there in front of my desk, lo
