Take it away,” I muttered, backing into the headboard as the maid placed a steaming bowl of water on the nightstand beside my bed.The moment I looked at it, my brain dragged me straight back to the river. ​LORRAINE’S POV​“How strong is this?” I held onto the wine glass, turning it absentmindedly as I stared at Casimir, who had begun pouring a glass for himself.​“Strong enough to make you forget as you requested.”​I’d practically forced my way into Casimir's room after learning the truth about Alexavian and the role he played during the purge. Right now, I’d choose anything over the slightest possibility of seeing Alexavian’s face.​I might not be able to hold myself back before lunging at him.
