All Chapters of Shadow Among The Pack: Chapter 11 - Chapter 20

Atticus points to the direction in front of him where I see my mother waiting at the side of one of the booths selling different colored juices. So that’s where she was!We begin to head towards her just in time as the vendor is handing out juice to everyone besides my mother. “Lady, please. Just pick whatever flavor that you like already.” The vendor sounds like he is pleading with her at this point.“I can’t decide between pineapple, peach, and strawberry.” My mother says while rubbing her chin in concentration."Shit," I murmur, slapping my palm across my face. Even while purchasing a simple drink, my mother overthinks everything.Wonderboy Atticus must have sensed my worry because he intervened right away and urged me along with him. I don’t know what compelled me to come along with him, but I suddenly find my legs moving on their own.“Do you mind if I buy one of every flavor of drink that you’re selling?” I felt my eyes widening at his request. Even the shopkeeper is baffled wh

I awoke in my panther form after having been emotionally conflicted the night before. After a nice and loud yawn, I notice a heavy leather blanket was slung over my body, which I shake off of me. I stifle a yawn and start sniffing and looking around. My godmother Sylphy was the last thing I remembered seeing when I was weeping last night after yelling at the moon. And then I'm not sure what occurred because my panther chose to take over for me. Looking around the familiar inside of the cabin, I knew I was in Sylphy's house. Since I've morphed, she must have brought me along with her.Come to think of it, where is Sylphy?I got up from the floor and began to pace around the room while still in my shifted form. It was my first time to be in Sylphy’s home when I am a panther. And I have to say that it was a nice change of perspective. I stand on my back legs and rest my front paws on the wooden table as I begin to sniff the weird concoctions and various herbs that she was mixing. The s

The relief that I felt when I heard Atticus himself dismissing the idea that I am his mate. It was an exhilarating feeling, as if all the anxiety that I had bubbled up had finally subsided. I even felt like my old life was slowly returning back to normal, aside from Cana, who has been persistent in befriending me. Though it seemed that way at first, I eventually changed my mind and gave up trying to push her away. She wasn't a bad person, so even though I was opposed to making friends with someone from the pack, I just gave up and let her tag along with me.That also gives me an excuse to avoid meeting Atticus' gaze and engaging in a brief conversation whenever we pass each other in the corridor. But, during training, I had no choice because he and I were the chosen leaders for each gender division, and the coach would frequently summon us for a meeting. Plus, whenever I'm having trouble getting my team to listen, Atticus will occasionally step in and talk some sense into the girls.“

I am cursed and I know it. What kind of luck do I have that when I decide to avoid a person, it seems that the universe would do everything in their hands to make me sit NEXT to them?“Lunaris, are you okay?” Atticus, who is sitting beside me, ask with concern in his eyes. “I’m fine. I’m fine.” I repeated. I am leaning against the window as I try to make up as much space between us as possible.Despite the fact that the van was large enough, the cooking equipment and bags in the rear began to take up room. So, as much as I wanted to switch seats, I couldn't because most of them were already taken. I also had to get past Atticus and the fact that we were sitting in the rear of the vehicle.“Is she okay?” I hear Kyle asking. He is seated in the row in front of us that he had to stand up a bit to look back. “No worries,” I assure him. “I’m just...a little car sick.” I reason.“Car sick?” Kyle tilts his head to the side before throwing his head back and laughing. “I’ve never heard of a

Laughter fills the room the entire time the other girls see the commotion in the kitchen. Especially when Atticus begins to panic and turn ghostly pale when I take a knife from the kitchen drawers and begin to approach him. He almost fainted when I raise the knife in the air with the top pointing down as I stab it to the lobster’s head, killing it in one go.Soon after, I begin boiling a pot of water to cook the lobster while the other girls are still laughing their heads off. “A lobster, seriously!?” Myrtle gasps once in a while, and her laughs are so infectious that I have to bite my bottom lip to contain my own laughter. I turn to look at them again and see that they are in front of the guys, and Vivian is teasing the guys with the lobsters she took from the cooler in each hand. The image of three grown men cowering in fear with living seafood was just so silly that I had to cover my mouth as I giggled. My attention turns to Atticus, who is still on the kitchen floor where he fell
