When we got back, the others were already beginning to prepare everything for their so-called barbecue night. A few yards from the rest house, I saw that they had cleared the area and had prepared what looked like a bonfire in the middle. “What’s that?” I point to the logs positioned neatly on one side, just sitting beside the barbecue grill.“Hm?” Atticus follows with his gaze to where I am pointing before letting out a grunt. “It’s supposed to be a place for us to sit and gather around.” He then places a hand on his hip and scratches the back of his head with the other. “Geez, I told the guys to fix it. Well, at least they got the bonfire ready.”“Is there anything that I can do to help?” I offer.“I think the girls are taking a shower. Perhaps you would like to take one as well? I think the guys and I can handle this. The bathroom has a heater installed so you can take a hot shower.”He didn’t need to specify about the heater. But I guess he somehow got the wrong idea that I’m sus

Weeks have passed since our little trip, and I have seen a bit of improvement in training my team—or more like I figured out a few tricks on how to motivate them. All I need to do is reward Vivian and Lisa with food once they exceed their record every week. They were the easiest but the most costly, considering I had to buy food for them.My training method for Myrtle didn’t cost me anything, but it was probably the most troublesome method. Actually, it was Vivian who first gave me the idea. She hinted that Myrtle was obsessed with social media and advised me to use it.So, to motivate her to improve, I promise her that I will photograph her while she is exercising and make sure that I capture her 'good angels,' whatever that means. I had a hard time figuring things out at first since I had never taken images of other people before. And it should have stayed that way since I'm a terrible photographer. So much that Myrtle became irritated before Atticus stepped in and offered to be the

Five days before we leave the Strigon pack to head to Fallon Territory, where the venue will be held, our team was suddenly invited to head to the Alpha’s mansion. Since we were heading out of the territory, we have to receive the Alpha’s blessing so we could leave the barrier.Since it was for school business, we rode the school bus to head to the venue. It has already been 15 minutes since we passed the front gate of the territory, and we were still going. It is now starting to freak me out how far their property goes.“Don’t worry. We’re almost there.” Atticus informs me. He is sitting beside me on the bus and, from the reflection of the mirror, I can see that he is looking intently at me, making me uncomfortable at the attention.“You,” I lean back and turn my head in his direction. “I don’t understand why you’re riding the bus with us when you could just stay home and wait for us to arrive.” I look around us at all of the students on the bus. It isn’t just the relay team that is

Because of the number of students lining up to the Alpha, it seemed like it would never end. But seeing as we already have a few others joining us who already have a mark on their wrist, the line must be moving. I was with the girls as I ate by the dessert table since the main course area was already starting to get crowded. On the other hand, the guys who were still at the main course were snatching whatever they could from the table.“Where do you guys think they put all those food?” Lisa wonders while eyeing Adrien, Zack, Kyle, and Atticus. “They’ve been there for a while.”“Guys do have a fast metabolism.” Vivian shrugs as she busies herself choosing a dessert on the table. When Vivian begin to move in my direction while scouting for desserts to pick, I take a step back to let her pass when I happen to bump into someone.“Oh, sorry about that.” I apologize and turn around to address the other person. Then, I stifle a gasp when I see that the person is none other than Alexa, the s

My mother and Sylphy comes to my room as soon as the arguments in the room inally subsides. “Well, that’s our cue to leave,” Myrtle says. She and the girls gets up from their squatting position. “Are you girls leaving already?” My mother asked when she noticed they were starting to grab their things in my room.“Afraid so, Mrs. Arrington. It’s getting late, and Lunaris is probably tired as well.” Vivian says. “Plus, she needs to get her strength back as soon as possible if she still wants to join the competition.”“Don’t you girls worry. Lunaris is in good hands. I’m pretty sure that she’ll heal long before you guys leave the territory.” Sylphy assures them.I bid farewell to Myrtle, Lisa, and Vivian. My mother had placed my food on my bed as soon as they left. As I began to taste the soup, I almost spit it out because of its taste. “Don’t you dare, Lunaris. You know it’s bad to waste food.” My mother warns me with her eyes.I force myself to swallow the bitter water before glancin
