All Chapters of Crossing The Blue Line: His Forbidden Puck Bunny: Chapter 11 - Chapter 20

CHAPTER ELEVEN JAX’S POV I blew the whistle and the whole line stopped. “Again,” I shouted. “You’re late on the switch. Do it clean or we stay out here until it goes dark.” The guys reset without complaining. We were three days out from the biggest game on the schedule—Chatham against Eastbridge, our long-time rivals. The media was already circling and scouts had already arrived town, everyone wanted a piece of this one. I used the pressure from the games as a shield. As long as I stayed locked on drills and matchups and systems, I didn’t have to think about Riley. Or the baby. Or the name Eli that had shown up on my phone days ago and was still at the back of my head like a live wire. “Derek, tighter gap,” I called out. “Logan, stop cheating the blue line. They’ll burn you for it.” Logan shot me a look but adjusted his stance. The tension between us had been crazy since the hospital incident, and I knew he still didn’t trust the space I kept around his sister. But I real

CHAPTER THIRTEEN LOGAN’S POV I couldn’t sit in that house any longer. Every time I looked at Riley’s closed door I saw the torn page again, her shaky voice saying it was just a story. The way she wouldn’t even look into my eyes when she said it. Something was off and it was eating me alive. So I grabbed my keys and drove to Scarlett’s place. I told myself I just needed company, you know something to take the edge off. Nothing more. She opened the door in a short robe and took one look at my face. “Bad night?” she asked. “Something like that.” She stepped aside and let me in. The second the door closed she was already in my space, placing her hands on my chest, reading me like a book. “You’re wound tight,” she said. “Come here.” She didn’t ask questions, she never did when I showed up like this. She just pulled me toward the bedroom, kissing me and her tongue sliding against mine. I kissed her back but my head was still half somewhere else. Scarlett noticed I wa

CHAPTER FIFTEENRILEY’S POV The sound of Logan’s truck pulling into the driveway cut straight through the silence. My eyes snapped open and the morning light was already coming through the curtains. Jax was still asleep beside me, one of his arms laid across my waist, and he was still completely undressed under the sheet. I immediately started panicking. “Jax. Jax. Wake up, now.” He was on his feet in seconds. I pointed at the window and he didn’t ask questions. He yanked his shirt over his head, grabbed the rest of his clothes in one handful, and went out the same way he came in. The window shut softly behind him and in less than minutes, he was gone. I scrambled out of bed. My hands were shaking as I smoothed the blankets, fixed the pillows, and kicked his discarded sock under the bed just in time. I pulled on a sleep shirt and tried to steady my heart rate. Then I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I sat on the edge of the mattress and forced myself to look calm.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN RILEY’S POV I pushed the phone away from myself, and scudded to the other side of the room. That could not be possible? She was dead…she had to be. For the next few minutes I sat down and panicked on the floor. Maybe I was just hallucinating, or overthinking things.Mara was dead, it had been years. I was being delusional and that had just had to be it. Or should I ask Logan? I got up and headed out the door, a few inches to his room I stopped in my tracks, what was I even going to say to him?Just as I was about to turn around and leave, Logan opened the door and caught me standing there. He took one look at me and asked. “Are you okay Riley?”“Uhmm, yeah . Yeah, it's just errr, I wanted to….I was actually headed here to see if you had finished making the coffee as earlier mentioned.” I stuttered. He sighed. “That’s why you’re here?”“Yeah.”“Coffee’s in the kitchen, I put yours in a flask so it won’t go cold. I made quick waffless too if you’d like some.”“O

CHAPTER NINETEENLOGAN’S POV “What a day.” Derek said, dropping his gear beside me in the locker room.“Yeah.” I mumbled back.I wasn’t entirely in the mood to say anything ever since Coach announced the entire family thing.“You good Logan?” Derek asked, he seemed to have noticed my silence.“Sure, sure, I am. Just doing a little thinking.” “Alright. How is Riley doing?” I looked up. “She’s good. She’s good.”“I wonder who ]ax is gonna bring for the family interview. I mean ever since his sister passed away, he hasn’t really spoken about his family much.” Derek continued. But his words made me freeze, because I knew what had happened that night. And I deliberately kept it from Jax. The sound of the main door entrance brought me back to reality as Jax walked into the locker room. He was holding his gear and a parcel. Derek and the other guys immediately went silent and started grabbing their things.I stared at him for a few minutes, before finally speaking. “What’s up man?” I ex
