Chapter 21: The Sirens Rise The emergency sirens cut through the boardroom like a blade. Red lights strobed across the glass walls and turned every face the color of blood. Outside the sealed doors Serena stood perfectly still, one hand still resting against the glass, her smile unchanged even as the corridor behind her filled with running security teams and the distant crack of overridden access panels. Damien’s fingers tightened around Lila’s. He did not look at the board. He looked only at the woman on the other side of the glass. “Marcus,” he said, voice flat. “Full lockdown on this floor.
