All Chapters of After the Divorce, My Psycho Alpha Ex-Husband went feral: Chapter 71 - Chapter 80

Scarlett POVPlaying deaf and dumb was actually pretty satisfying. I finally understood why Jaxen used to love doing it to me. When you hate someone, just ignore them.Watching them lose their shit trying to get a reaction out of you while you give them nothing? It’s weirdly satisfying, like you’re winning without even trying.Too bad I didn’t have my phone to check the time.I figured I’d waited long enough and was about to come out when Jaxen pulled a fast one.He didn’t barge in himself—he sent someone to “politely” drag me out.The second I stepped into the hallway and saw him standing there like he owned the damn place, my face went sour. I looked away, not even trying to hide my disgust.“Why didn’t you just live in the bathroom?” He mocked, back to that arrogant tone. “Don’t like it in there?”I’d had enough. I swung at him hard. This time he didn’t let it slide. He caught my fist midair and yanked it.

Jaxen POVI couldn’t shut my brain off. Every time I closed my eyes, her words from the hospital echoed: You don’t deserve to have a kid with me. Cold. It was as if she had already written me out of her future completely. It twisted something deep in my chest, a raw, unfamiliar ache I couldn’t shake. I’d run every scenario: if she was pregnant, I’d fight to keep the kid, figure out the rest later. But she’d made it brutally clear—she’d rather run to the West Coast and end it than tie herself to me.Sleep wasn’t coming. Not until I was close to her again.I’d slipped into her bed without thinking, drawn by the soft sound of her breathing, the faint scent of her shampoo on the pillow—something sweet that always cut through the noise in my head. The second my body settled next to hers, the wolf inside me woke up. He wasn’t raging or clawing to get out tonight. No, that feral bastard was thrilled. I could feel him spinning in lazy, happy circles deep in my chest, tail thumping like a cont

Scarlett POVBeing locked up sucked. Straight-up boring as hell.Jaxen wasn’t starving me or anything—he made sure I had food, a staff waiting on me, and a damn mansion with killer views. But the real kick in the gut? No phone, no internet, no way to reach the outside world or hear from it. I felt cut off, like I’d washed up on some deserted island, drifting while life kept rolling on without me.Two burly guards parked outside my door 24/7, killing any easy exit.So after waking up, I paced the room like a caged animal, brain spinning for any way out. My wolf stirred restlessly under my skin, claws itching to scratch free, a low growl echoing in my chest that I swallowed down.I kept circling back to the window. To get the hell out of this house, I’ve got to start here, right?I scanned for pipes, trellises—anything to climb down to the first floor. After poking around, I spotted

Jaxen POVHer words hung in the air, and my gaze dragged from her cheek down to that tiny waist I could wrap my hands around. Couldn’t remember the last time I’d grabbed her from behind like this. Most of our hugs had been her running into my arms; I’d catch her every time, even when it didn’t feel like she really meant it. If I stayed quiet too long, she’d test me with that move, like pressing on an old bruise to see if it still hurt. But right now? That wasn’t on my mind. My heart was still dangling somewhere in my throat, yanked tight by an invisible wire. I couldn’t even name the fear—maybe just the sight of someone treating their life like it was disposable. Fall, shatter, throw it away. My thoughts were a knotted mess. I needed to unravel one thread so the damn thing would settle. Before I could think better of it, my arms opened and locked around her waist. Like vines claiming a tree. The se

Scarlett POVFour days locked up in Green Park, and I was climbing the walls with boredom and frustration.Especially since day two, when those damn ceiling cameras started tracking my every move. Jaxen hadn’t shown his face, but every time one of those lenses whirred and tilted, I could feel him on the other end, watching. My skin crawled.I yanked the covers down, glared hard at the rotating camera, then turned the same dead-eyed stare on the female bodyguard planted in the corner like a damn statue. She followed me everywhere—bathroom trips included.“Can you please get out of my line of sight?” I forced my voice to be gentle even though irritation buzzed under my skin. “Just stand outside with your buddy. Does that work?”“Sorry, Luna. Orders are to stay in the room today. Tomorrow I switch to the door.”Her robotic answer made my stomach drop. How long is this nightmare go
