~Maria Pov~ "Maria," my father called as he knocked to enter the room. We'd moved in today, though the boxes weren't as many as I'd imagined , we barely had enough stuff to fill the house. "Dad, do you need something?" I asked as he came in, a smile on his face. He'd been happy ever since I told him the news about renting a new apartment in a more beautiful neighborhood. "We're finally getting back our old life, aren't we, my baby?" he said, and I nodded in response. ( If he actually behaves this time, maybe things will get better.)
