Anastasia's POV Katherine and Serena was dumbfounded, by Tristan's mother's outburst, but I didn't bother explaining to them. "What's it? Did we do something wrong?” Serena asked in a timid voice as she looked at me. But I wasn't ready to feed her delusion. Whatever game she was playing, I wasn't interested. So I walked toward the table and sat down, waiting for the others to arrive. Dinner wouldn't start for another hour anyway. I would have gone to the kitchen to help the workers, but that would have turned into a disaster. The mere smell of food had been making me throw up these days, and my pregnancy was becoming harder to conceal from the workers. My stomach churned just thinking about it. Still, I was certain they wouldn't rat me out to Tristan. At least, I hoped they wouldn't. “Sitting here alone?” Katherine asked as she walked into the dining room with Serena and Jason. The moment they approached, something inside me tightened. Suddenly, I felt like prey wh

Anastasia's POVTristan's words shocked me more than how I wanted Serena to be shocked by them. Maybe I didn't expect him to be so brazen about my request like that. How did he know that I couldn't divorce him? Could it be because he knew I didn't have the balls to do it? Or because he wouldn't grant me one?Whatever the reasons were, it felt bitter, and I was irritated by it. He had no right to think of sitting on my freedom.“What do you mean? I can divorce you if I want. Don't be such a cocky man!” I snapped, and he just chuckled, like I had just cracked a joke.“You think I'm cocky?” He teased, and that was the first time Tristan Brooke had ever teased me, and that surprised me.He had been doing a lot of things that were out of character this evening. I didn't know what I should make of it. All I could think was that Tristan Brooke had lost his fucking mind.“Do you want to go back in now?” He asked, switching the topic, and I didn't bother rekindling the conversation.I also did

Tristan's POVSerena, please, let me be wrong.I waited for Serena to tell me the truth about what happened at the ancestral mansion because only when she told me would I know why everything had happened that way.I mean, why were both Anastasia and her drowning at the same time? It was just unbelievable.“She pushed me into the pool,” Serena said, breaking into my thoughts, and I looked at her with a complicated expression.Anastasia pushed her? That troublemaker! I thought she had changed, especially since she hadn't acted out in the past few days, but who could have thought she was painting a bigger picture? But if Anastasia had pushed her, why was she also drowning with her?“But Anastasia was also in the pool. How's that?” I asked.“About that... she actually dragged me into the pool with herself, saying we should bet on who you were going to save first,” Serena mumbled, and my eyes stung with anger.Anastasia and her bloody schemes!“She... did that?”“Yes. I thought she had alw

Anastasia's POV Natalie and I sat in silence after my words, but after she got over the shock, she grabbed her phone and made some calls without saying a word to me. When she was done, she faced me. “I just booked you a session with the best divorce attorney in the country. He's coming to the hospital tomorrow, so you’d better be serious this time,” she said, her voice hardened, and I smiled, knowing this was Natalie's way of asking me if I was sure I wouldn't take it back this time around. “Don't worry, I'm not going to take it back,” I said, as I looked out the balcony, watching the streets as cars passed by, but my thoughts were soon consumed by the moments Tristan had disappointed me over and over again. It took me a long time before I finally picked myself up and decided that I would never let Tristan walk all over me again, but this was just the beginning. Transitioning from Anastasia Brooke to Anastasia Lancaster would be hard, but I was ready to fight. Because Anastas

Anastasia's POV“Don't come closer.”I breathed shakily as Jason took a few steps towards me, and I didn't know how our light-hearted conversation had suddenly turned so heavy and scary. He hadn't even said anything threatening, but his words were ominous, and they were ticking me off badly.“Why are you acting like this? I'm proposing to marry you…” he was saying, but his words were cut off by Natalie barging into the room, and I let out a sigh of relief.I had never craved an interruption like that.“What's going on? Who's marrying who?” Natalie asked, probably picking up the crumbs of the words she had heard, and when I looked back at him, he was smiling at Natalie, the dark look on his face earlier nowhere to be seen. That two-faced bastard.“Seems your friend is back, then I should take my leave now,” he said, as he walked towards the door, but not without greeting Natalie casually before turning to face me.“If you ever change your mind, don't forget to reach out,” he said with
