Dinner has started quietly, especially because Lily was dedicated to acting like I didn't exist at all. It was late in the night and despite the cool room, I felt a restlessness I couldn’t exactly explain. My hands lingered on the keyboard inside Marie’s chat before I stopped myself. She was probably sleeping. Instead I went out through the sliding door and opened it. The glass door allowed for spilled light from inside to make it’s way in along with the blue bulb that lit the space. The balcony wrapped around the house like a warm hug, allowing a door on the side so that you could go into the other balcony of the next room. I looked up from the book in my hands and that was when I saw it. The sliding door of the next room had opened and Aaron was stepping out.
