I can't breathe. It hurts. Everything hurts. My chest feels like it's about to explode. So this is what the real pain of rejection feels like. I couldn't believe he actually did this. His words still echoing in my ears "I, Sebastian Cole, future Alpha of the Black Moon pack reject you, Alyssa Ross, as my mate, before the Moon Goddess as my witness." The bond between us snapped, and I dropped to my knees. Blood trickled from my nose as a sickening wave of nausea rolled through me. Somewhere deep down, I had always known this day would come. Sebastian would never choose me. But I never imagined he would reject me like this. So cruelly, in front of everyone. I wished everything could go back to how it was before the Moon Goddess declared us mates. Three Months Earlier.... "Alyssa Ross! You wake up right this instant!" My mother's voice drifted into my dream. Wait... What was she doing in my dream? "Alyssa! Wake up now or you're going to be late!" Late? Befo

"I'm sure you girls are going to love it here," Lorraine said, nothing the silence. "You can all go home now, gather your necessities, and say goodbye to your families. But please be back in time. Claudia doesn't like people being late." "Alyssa right?" she asked me Yes I said quietly "You three can follow me, so I'll show you to your room." " The three of you guys will be sharing the same room, since your work responsibilities are the same." "Okay?" "Okay" We answered back and followed her. "Here, this is going to be your living quarters from now." she said opening the door. The room was much more larger than I had expected. Three neatly made beds stood against the walls, one for each of us. Two large windows for allowing fresh air into the room, and we even had our own private bathroom. So far so good. Our quarters were beautiful. It only proved why Alpha Leonard was so respected and love. He had never discriminated against anyone. Whether you were an Alpha,

Sebastian... I said his name softly, afraid that saying his name loudly would make him disappear. Eight years.... it has been eight years since she had last seen him. I held the curtains so tightly my knuckles turned white. He was still looking at me, did he remember me? would he recognize the little omega girl he had met years ago? No... Of course he wouldn't. Why would he? That thought alone brought a bitter smile on my face. it was enough to reel her back into reality. I stumbled from the window as if burned and immediately ran to my bed and collapsed. My heart beating so fast it was as if it was going to come out from my chest. Sebastian... I said his name again. I couldn't see him clearly but I knew it was him. I could never forget those eyes Those icy husky gray eyes. slowly, memories that I had refused to remember all these while kept replaying in my head. Eight Years Ago.... Dad are we really going to the Alpha estate? I asked, skipping

"You want these people to stay here?" The Alpha asked again."Yes, Father. That would be your birthday gift to me.""Okay, son. I'll take it that you know what you're doing.""Come forward." The Alpha motioned for my parents. They came forward and bowed."From now on, you and your family have residence in the estate," the Alpha said."Thank you, Alpha, but we do not deserve this," my father said, bowing again."Perhaps you do not, but your daughter has found favor in the sight of the future Alpha, so it will happen as he has said," the Alpha replied."Everyone, please enjoy the party. Come on, go and enjoy the celebration," the Alpha said with a smile.I think that calmed my father down, and he left with my mother, both of them holding my hands.Soon enough, the celebration ended, and people had already started leaving.A guard walked toward us."I have been ordered by the Alpha to show you to your rooms. Follow me."We followed him up the stairs until he stopped in front of a door."T

I stared at him from up close, and the look in his eyes made me instinctively take a step backward."I'm—I'm sorry," I stammered."Watch where you're going," he said, his voice cold and detached."What are you doing here?" he asked again."The Alpha wanted to see me, so I came.""Why did my father want to see you?""I think you should ask him yourself, Young Master Sebastian."He looked like he was about to say something when a sweet voice called out."Sebastian."I turned. It was Helena. She walked toward us, her heels clicking against the floor.I finally had the chance to take a good look at her.She had always been beautiful, even when we were young, but now she had a more mature beauty. Her smooth, fair skin seemed to glow beneath the soft lights, a slender nose, high cheekbones, and full, rosy lips that curved naturally into a charming smile. Her blonde hair was slicked back neatly, revealing the graceful line of her neck and the small diamond earrings adorning her ears. Her ey
